Draft at the brewpub. Pours a pale yellow color with a small white head. Has a sweet malty aroma with some weak smoky hints. Sweetish malty grainy flavor with some hints of smoke. Has a sweetish malty grainy finish.

At Big Horse in Hood River, OR on tap--Poured a pale golden straw body with a small whitish head. Nose of smoke and piquant lager spice. Not super smoky, but just right. This is one of the best smoke beers I have ever had. Loved it!

Lightly golden colored lager with a small frothy head., that reduces down leaving some spotty lacing in its wake. Not detecting any smokiness in the nose at all. Tastes just like a really clean lager so I am confused as to what they were going for here. I am assuming they were trying to clone Aecht Scherlenka Helles, but this does not match up.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours clear gold with a lacy white ring of foam. Lightly smoky nose by comparison to the Schlenkerla beers. Some fruit in the aroma as well. Medium-light body and carbonation. Taste of toffee, bread. Dry smoky and earthy finish. Nicely done, the smoke really compliments the malt.

Clear, golden colored with a nice white head which is fairly retentive and leaves good lacing behind. Moderate amounts of smoke in aroma. Suprisingly fuller bodied than anticipated. Decent smoke flavor without overwhelming. Fair amounts of hop bitterness linger on the tongue. Pretty tasty.

Not sure what the question mark is for. Golden colour. Smoke nose that dissipates really quickly. Too bad. Lots of smoke in the flavour, but light in the overall scheme of things, like you’d find in Schlenkerla Helles. A rich and supple brew, with that mellow smoke and a nice clean pale malt note. The malt isn’t as rich as a Bambergian example - definitely American - but otherwise this is a good light rauch.
