Tremendous coffee aroma, a little harder to find the coconut. Porter body but generous flavor dimensions. Finishes with a lingering roasted note but not bitter. Very nice. Thanks to Darren for bringing this back from Hawai’i. Bottle.

A dark brown porter with a thin mocha head. In aroma, loads of coffee grinds, coconut patties, beautiful. In mouth, like eating bitter chocolate coconut patties, delicious and surprising. At the REAL gastropub, Zwanze day, Dec. 1 2012.

Draft at brewery: Extremely delicious beer with incredible aromas. Right off the bat, coconut and chocolate filled the olfactories. A super-smooth and creamy texture followed. Then, a big, cake-like sweetness came along with a balancing zip-zing of hops. The beer also had other flavors and aromas of coffee, vanilla and light roast that drifted in and out of a mild bitterness in the finish, creating even more depth. This was one well made, fresh and tasty beer, and it was one of my favorites from this brewery. My only qualm was that it’s kind of dessert-like, so I could only have one ... but I really wanted more.
