A classic robust porter spiced with all-natural toasted coconut and award winning locally-grown and roasted Hamakua Coast White Mountain Coffee. Black in color and crowned with a creamy, dark tan head, toasted coconut and roasted coffee aromas are followed by hints of rich, silky dark malt and chocolate; balanced with hoppy spice finish.

On draft at the brewpub. Near black in colour with moderate carbonation. Aromas are of espresso powder, caramel and dark chocolate. More dark chocolate and dark roast coffee on the palate, balanced by sweet pale malt and mild toasted coconut. Medium bodied with a sharp finish. Good stuff.

22oz pours a black color with a bit of head. Roasted malt, coconut and lots of hops. Flavors don't balance so well.

Rich dark brown coloured body with a thinnish light brown head. Aroma of grapes, macadamia nuts, roasted malt and a touch of cream - nice and strong. Medium-bodied; Strong sweetness up front from the macadamia nuts, toasted malt, chocolate, coffee and even some from lactose noticeable. Aftertaste shows some good body with the roasted malt standing out along with a bit of the coffee. Overall, a nice and rich beer that has a lot of layered sweetness and finishes with some tropical fruits like coconut and light coffee. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Tamura’s Market in Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii on 31-December-2015 for US$8,99 (I wouldn’t pay ~$12 in Waikiki) sampled in my condo here in Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii on 02-January-2016.

22 oz bottle. From a grocery store in Honolulu, HI.
Dark reddish brown - almost black - color with a small tan head. Coffee, roasted malt, coffee, mild vanilla, coffee, coconut, coffee and coffee in the aroma. The flavor is vanilla, sweetness, crème brûlée, dark coffee, coconut and roasted malt. Even if I hate coffee I can’t say I would hate this beer. The flavor is actually quite great. A little thin but otherwise really enjoyable. Worth throwing a shaka!

Pour out of 22 oz bottle, thanks Richard! Dark brownish black pour with tan head, aroma brought notes of coffee, dark cocoa, smoke, hints of slight spice, touch of cocoa nib, hints of spice. Taste was a mix of spice, earth, cocoa, roast into a bit of dark fruit, some vanilla into a bit of smoke, finishing slightly bitter.

Bomber from Safeway in Honolulu. Nose is bitter coffee and very light coconut, not nearly as apatizing as the Maui CoCoNut and Waikiki Black Strap Molasses Porter I had yesterday. Very dark brown with a big tan head. Flavor is coffee with some coconut and a hint of chocolate.
