3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 scotty (904) - - NOV 17, 2010
Cask in Keel Row, Newcastle.
Fairly deep brown in colour, head was quite thin, but lasted to the bottom of the glass. Medium to full in body, plenty of malty/toffee flavours, these were to the fore rather than any bitterness. Very smooth and satisfying, had it with a burger, went well with that!! Much better than I expected as I’ve been to this pub before and had my doubts re the beer quality!

Cask @ 3 Judges. Brown colour, tan head. Aroma has some roasted malts. Flavour: roasted malts, coffee, hint of chocolate. Aroma doesn’t give it away, but this one is actually very nice, very drinkable.
