Cask, GBBF 06. Black with a beige foam. Aromas are earthy coffee with peat, winter fruit and some saltiness. Flavours are roast coffee with chocolate malts. Fruity berries, quite sweet with a dry finish.

On cask at The Congress, Longton. A malty stout this, with slight chocolate. Decent stout but there are better. Good.

(Cask at GBBF, London Earl’s Court, 5 Aug 2010) Black colour with foamy, beige head. Roasted, malty nose with notes of coffee and dark chocolate. Roasted, malty taste with coffee, dark chocolate and cocoa. Solid cocoa bitterness in a dry finish. Rather light body, dry and fairly bitter. Nice and highly drinkable stout.

7 Very sweet fruity raisin aroma. Lots of roasty mash.
4 black, small tan head.
7- Rich roast, quite burnt, but quite simple.
3 Soft palate, carbonation low. Finish a little dry, but not quite ashy. Grainy too.
13 Solid, but maybe too dry to session

From cask. Pours dark brown to black with a small tan head. Dark roasted malty. Roasted, chocolate and dark chocolate malty. Chocolate sweet and roasted flavoured into the finish.

UPDATED: OCT 13, 2010 Cask @ 3 Judges. Black colour, tan head. Aroma is roasted malts, coffee. Flavour is roasted malts, coffee, bit of smoke and tar. Well bodied. Fairly bitter. Very pleasant and well flavoured considering the low abv.
Rerate @ 3 Judges. deep roasted malts and bitter coffee, and slightly fruity. This is great stuff. +.4

Cask gravity at St Albans BF 09. Black, lasting dark beige head. Quite a buttery toffee flavoured stout. Not very stout. Some roasted malt on finish. Aroma is a bit yeasty. Odd stout really. Some toffee choc comes through later.

Cask @ GBBF 2008. Pours a black color with a small tan head. Has a roasted malty chocolate aroma. Roasted malty chocolate flavor with some hints of coffee. Has a roasted malty chocolate and coffee finish.

Clear dark brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, burnt, coffee, smoke. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and bitter with a long to average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. (080808)

Cask@GBBF2008. Deep brown colour, mediumsized brown head. Aroma is roasted malts, coffee and some dark fruits. Flavour is roasted malts, coffee, mild tobaccoish notes as well as vanilla and dark dry fruits. Pleasant.
