Big Mama Stout is brewed from 5 types of barley malt and some rye malt in combination with Summit and Willamette whole flower hops. It is then “dry-hopped” with American hops and cocoa nibs from Madagascar. Our Belgian dark beer will improve during the first year of aging by developing delicate aromas of chocolate balanced by a moderate bitterness. We recommend tasting it at cellar temperature.

UPDATED: JUL 20, 2016 75cl bottle. Dark brown with very big tanned head. It’s not easy to open this beer without spoiling the half of it on the floor. Nose : rich notes of burned malts with dominating black chocolate, dairy, toffee, cheese and nuts. Some honey and flower notes. Sip : medium body with cream like texture. Medium carbonation, a bit more then a typical stout. It’s a sweet beer with quite distinguished cocoa flavor. Got some other flavors balanced in like burned malts, toffee, dried fruits, banana and honey. The alcohol content is warming. Ending is mostly sweet, burned and a bit earthy dry but dominated by black chocolate like feeling. The beer is quite delicious.

0.33l bottle. Black body, light beige head. Aroma of caramel, orange, grapes, elderflower and cocoa. Taste of caramel, cocoa, pine, chocolate, grapefruit and grassy hops. It has very limited roasted malt characher, that is quite suprising from a stout. I still like it though.

Bottle of 33cl, in a Trappist glass ; room-temperature. We’re in front of a stout with cocoa notes. Usual dark brown colour with a little, creamy light brown head. The aroma is roasted malt and cocoa. Taste is first coffee, then cocoa notes for the aftertaste. Good

Clear dark brown to black with hint of red, huge rocky light brown head is long and leaves lacing. Dry, malty, ash, coffee, sweeter notes also, cocoa, bit medicinal herbs. Good nuanced aroma. Round feel, medium to light body, tingly carbonation, bitter sweet, long finish, cocoa in finish. Balanced, good flavors and lots of them, one to sip in peace and enjoy.

Bottle. Pours very dark brown, almost black. Ok head. Smell is mild sweet, and some aspects of roasted malts. Taste is rather intense, very roasted, malty, sharp, mild bitterness, has some cocoa ( not to be mistaken for chocolaty ) not very sweet. OK MF and carbo. Nice

0,75 shared by mmahut at Bratislava RB Tasting, big thanks. black color, small off-white head. Smells caramel, light currant notes, plums. Limited smell. Full body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. Tastes plums, caramel, some sweet hops, herbs. Finishes with plums, some sweetness and sweet Pines. Nice beer but nothing stout related at all (no roast, too sweet, no spices, coffee , etc)
