COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed at Jandrain-Jandrenouille for NovaBirra in Braine L’Alleud by Emanuele Corazzini of NovaBirra.

At moedic lambic, on tap. Coffee, chocolate, toasty. Good depth. Not the intensity of an imperial stout, but excellent.

Dark reddish brown, beige uneven fluffy head. Smells of chocolate, coffee, roasted malts, red fruits and some dough. Very rich taste, a lot of roasted malts and chocolate again with a lot of coffee, sweeter than what expected. Some hops in the finish.

Draft at Chez Moeder, rated from memory. Black w thin head. Roasty bitterness with some mild smokey notes. Decent stout - especially for a Belgian which is rare!

Bottle. Opaque black liquid with medium to big beige head. Aroma of licorice, dried fruit, chocolate, pumpernickel, bread and light ash. Taste is dry and light to medium bitter with notes of licorice, bread, light ash and dried fruit. Medium bodied with medium to high carbonation. Quite OK.

Bouteille(750ml):Deep brownish-black coloured, big loose tanned head, solid sweetish-bitter chocolatey and fruity (dried red berries) nose, hints of vanilla and chocolate cake; moderate to solid bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied and relatively soft; lingering soft sweetish chocolatey and fruity finish, caramel included, followed by a bitter aftertaste. Very fine and well crafted stuff…

Dark brown pour with a brown head. The aroma has some dark fruit, chocolate and roasted malt notes. The flavor is similar with a lot of chocolate and roasted malt. I also get some dark fruit and a bit of coffee. Medium to thick mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Bottle shared with kermis @ Moeder Lambic. Pours dark brown with a big tan head. Aroma is dark chocolate and instant coffee, but is hidden by CO2, it’s quite lively, after the head has collapsed, it’s more noticeable. Taste is coffee, dark chocolate and molasses.

Brewed by Jandrain-Jandrenouille? That I expect very high quality stuff. And indeed this turned out great. Not extreme in any way but still full of chocolate, classic herbal yet very present hops, just enough supporting toffee sweetness. I wouldn’t leave this laying around but drink it with the hop presence, it really makes the beer. Very tasty and indeed as expected of high quality, very well developed. (75cl bottle from Dranken Geers)
