3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a dark cola-like brown wtih a thin light tan head, the aroma smells delicious with piney and citrus aromas up front followed by some coffee and malt, The taste honestly was a let down for me, the aromas promised so much but the taste is lacking the hops and the malt is pretty subtle. This is basically a good brown ale with a bitter finish.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
650 ml bottle purchased at Binny’s Lincoln Park. Deep brown color, dare I say muddy brown. Aroma is earthy malts, dried leaves, damp top soil, with burnt caramel and cocoa powder.
Flavor is pretty much the same with a slightly amplified hop profile. Hop some more pine to me then anything else with bitterness being only low and mildly lingering. Citra hop doesn’t show up for me much at all. Decent with a dry texture that does make me want to take another sip take.

3.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
22 oz. bottle. Pours a deep ruby red/brown color with a tan head leaving a bit of lacing. Aroma is mostly roasted malt and a touch of hops. Taste is of burnt caramel and roasted malts with some coffee. Don’t notice much of a hop presence. Finish continues with the roasted coffee theme. Not a huge brown ale fan, but this isn’t too bad.

Must everytting made in america be a *-IPA? End of rant, the fact is that the beer is still good despite the fact that it claims to be a hopped up american brown ale. Being an american brown ale would mean, I think, it’s already hoppier than the style likely dictates. Ok, end of rant. really. The color is that of a brown ale. It does have malt. It does have hops. It’s very drinkable.

Beautiful deep brown pour with a thick lacy head. An excellent blend of a brown ale, with that bitter hoppiness of an India style ale. Tried first at a brew festival, then purchased in a 650mL bottle. Love it more and more with each tasting!

Sampled at Big Brew Beer Festival (Morristown). Pours dark brown in color with a tan head of foam. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, and light citrus notes. Taste mimics the nose with strong bitter citrus zest.

It poured a mahogany color with a white head. The aroma was of pine hops, caramel malts and floral notes. The taste was of pine and resinous hops with a smooth, lightly roasted and malty backbone. Very nice.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
22oz bomber. Deep, unfiltered, opaque, brown-burgundy color. Massive, steady beige head. Really solid offering. Classical citrus, pine aroma, some Black IPA-like oiliness. Creamy and smooth. Big brown malt notes, pleasant citrus hop balance. Perfectly respectable offering.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Thinner, lower on hop character and hop bitterness, maing it a generic brown ale.
