This is a decent pale ale. Light appearance, medium body, with slightly floral and grassy aroma and a musty aftertaste.

Bottle - small foamy head, dark gold color, pleasently fair hop aroma and flavor, balanced well with some sweet malt - nothing extrodinary or different here, but a pretty solid pale ale overall

Thanks to my bad-ass summer Secret Santa for the bomber! Hazy gold pour with a medium carbonation and a fine silky head. Bitter, tea-like nose initially but then opens up into modest floral notes. Well balanced flavors, with a solid malty base and the bitterness is complemented by some bright fruits the further in you get. Solid.

a beer with a peppery and not easily discernible fruit character perhaps citrus and a laid back malt profile like farina. not bad and not particularly noteworthy. bitter finish and some body with unbalanced sweetness.

Location: 22 oz bottle from Buy Rite, 8/18/12

Aroma: The nose has grassy hops, citrus/orange, a little bit of grain, and some rather light spice notes
Appearance: This one pours a mostly clear orangish-gold color with a small head and some spotty lace
Flavor: The taste is lightly sweet, with a malty profile, and some light-medium hop bitterness as well
Palate: The body is medium, it has a semi-smooth feel, some mild stickiness, and a lightly dry finish
Overall Impression: This is my first rating from Big Muddy, I’ll assume they just got distribution to NJ, since they just showed up in Buy Rite, and most of their beers have only a small number of ratings, including this one, which only has 20. Anyway, even though this wasn’t a favorite APA for me, I still found much of it enjoyable. I’m curious to see what the rest of the beers I purchased from Muddy are like...

UPDATED: APR 5, 2012 Slightly hazy golden with a more than fair white head. Aroma is pale malt and grass. Taste is sweet pale malt and a little hop bitterness. That’s it. Plain and simple and well balanced. Very good pale ale!

"Bottle (thanks to Funkybrewster). Pours golden with a small white froth. Aroma is lightly citric, a touch cheesy to me, some grain and straw notes, a little grassy. Flavor starts citric and sweet, some caramel and bready sweetness, floral hops, getting more grainy towards the finish, which is simple, a slight citric hop presence and mild bitterness. Medium body and a sharp carbonation." said funkybrewster and I agree with him, I remember it being a darker golden and biscuity sweet, drinkable but not fresh.

Bomber. Pours hazy gold with thin white head. Aroma is straw. Flavor is straw and a little citrus. Tastes like a lager (but a good one at that).

Aroma is yeast and malts with some citrus, very reminiscent of a bitter. The flavor has a nice hop bite to it with citrus and bread as well, that leads to bitter finish. Very close to an English interpretation of an APA, unique and pretty good.
