Pumpkin pie aroma. It pours a rich amber color. It has a nice blend of sweet pumpkin, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Those flavors are blended with a rich malt flavor. Love drinking this when it comes out!

Bottle from Binny’s in Bloomingdale, IL. Not the most attractive pour - murky deep orange with a small soapy white head. I could smell this one as soon as I poured it into the glass, though. Cinnamon, nutmeg - smells just like pumpkin pie. Palate has a little density to it. Pretty solid drinker.

Sample at Kurtkeller 017: Pumpkin-tastic 02 on 10/13/2014. Cloudy amber color with a medium foamy off-white head that dissipates steadily. Strings of lacing. Aroma of nutmeg, roast malt and caramel. Medium-bodied with flavors of caramel malt and pumpkin spices. The finish is sweet with a malt and nutmeg aftertaste. Decent overall.

6% a bottle picked up at Bottles & Cans in Chicago(great place to make mix 4 or 6-packs!). Served in a pint glass. It pours a light amber with a thin fizzy off-white head. The aroma is a fruity apple cinnamon though less so than O’Fallon’s Pumpkin Beer. This has a bit more pumpkin and nutmeg in the nose. Medium bodied with a lively carbonation. This beer is a candyish cinnamon monster with gingerbread cookies, nutmeg and pumpkin as well. Good but very sweet. Think halloween cookies.

As of October 2014, there are only two beers on RateBeer called Pumpkin Smasher. I was expecting there to be a hundred. In anycase, this Pumkin Smasher is a decent take on the ubiquitous fall style. It is ruddy orange w/ a ring of white head. It smells strongly of cinnamon w/ a hint of apples which may be either implied by spices used or could perhaps be from the yeast. There is a bit of a buttery character to this, not so much in how it tastes or smells but in the kind of oily, slick, thick mouthfeel. Combined w/ the heavy spice, it is actually not altogether unpleasant at all--though I have my doubts if it’s strictly intentional. Still, a pretty nice, slightly sweet, spice focused beer. It is a touch heavy handed but it doesn’t cloy and I could probably drink a few bottles of this before I got sick of it. This is worth trying if you are a fan of the style.

Bottle from my buddy Mark. Poured a earthy orange with white head. The natural pumpkin flavor stood up to the spices. Above average for the style.

It poured an orange color with a small white head. The aroma was of malt, caramel, some pumpkin and seasonal spices. The taste was of mild pumpkin with some spice and nutmeg. Nice.

(bottle - 12 oz) Copper pour with a thin head. Light aroma of pumpkin and just a hint of nutmeg. Much bigger hint of pumpkin pie, cinnamon and nutmeg in the flavor, but not overbearing.

Draft. Probably a better pumpkin beer. HAven’t had one in awhile, this one is spicy but lower on the huge maltiness.

12oz bottle thanks to Strykzone via local swap 5.2. Pours a murky burnt orange color with a finger of foamy off white head. Aroma of fresh pumpkin, lots of cinnamon, notes of other pumpkin pie spices, and a hint of citrus. Taste of bitter rotted pumpkin, sweet toasted malts, hints of citrus, and cinnamon.
