COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our flagship beer is a refreshing Golden brew that uses a blend of the finest Canadian and German malts giving it a smooth mild body that balances the crisp, pleasant German hop finish. The hops used in this local brew are soon to be grown at our very own hop yard at the Phillips farm in Manotick. [6127-20140118] Tap. Yeasty sourdough bread aroma. Clear, golden yellow body with a long-lasting creamy white head and some lattice lacing. Sweet corn bread flavour. Medium body. Good. (7/4/7/3/13) 3.3

Its nice to have a local brewery but overall the beer is mediocre. Gold with a thick white foamy, lasting head. Simple smell of bready malt with light caramel and grassy hops. Tastes mostly of grain and toasted malt with soft peach and a dry flat finish. Though the initial taste is alright its much to be desired.

Tall boy from the LCBO. Filtered amber with light carbonation and a frothy white head. Aromas are breads, cereals, some light sweet malts, and a hint of light hops. Tastes are grassy, some sweet corn, and a hint of caramel on the swallow. This is by far my least favourite of their brews and I suspect designed to give the Molson Canadian and Labatt Blue crowd something to drink when they visit the brew pub. Try their other excellent brews when there as they make so many good ones.

The beer pours a translucent red-tinged golden colour with a half inch white cap that lingers. The aroma is cereal malt, weak caramel, weak floral hops, and a mustiness. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is caramel, yeast, and grains. Unremarkable, yet not bad at all.

Impossible that this ale has such a low rating on this site... Golden effervescent body with short lived head. Scent of fresh baked bread, spring fruits and malts but canít really discern any hops. Itís in the mouth that the hops are noticeable and they are good (they balance the sweetness of the malts perfectly)! Flavours also include sweet apple / pear and peppery notes. Very enjoyable in mouth.

Can: Poured a clear bright golden color ale with a nice large white foamy head with good retention and some light lacing. Aroma of grainy cereal notes is not the most pleasant. Taste is also dominated by grainy unrefined notes with light cereal notes. Body is about average for style with good carbonation. Malt bill is definitely not clean enough in my opinion.

Can from the LCBO. Light, clear golden-orange with a finger of bright white head. Aroma is simple - starts with bready malt with a hint of caramel and toasted cereal, finishes with grassy and very slightly spicy hops, with not much inbetween. Flavour follows - bread, grain, quick hint of peach, enough noble hops to balance and offer a fairly dry finish, but not enough to leave a lasting impression. Itís OK, but with so many great pale ales on the market in Ontario now, I canít see this picking up a lot of traction outside of its home turf.

Can. Golden pour with a medium white head composed of fairly uniform medium sized bubbles. Grain aroma with some light hop notes. Tastes is predominately bread / biscuit malts with a touch of sweetness. Enjoyed it for what it is.

Pours a clear gold colour out of a can with a pillowy white head. I dont like the aroma, it is bready right off the top and that is surprising to me. After it opens up it shows light grassy hops and a hint of something citrus and a touch of pepper. Fast palate, the flavours are gone before they even begin and finishes with a bit of a metallic bite. Over carbonated crapola. Not enjoying this one what so ever.
