Our flagship beer is a refreshing Golden brew that uses a blend of the finest Canadian and German malts giving it a smooth mild body that balances the crisp, pleasant German hop finish. The hops used in this local brew are soon to be grown at our very own hop yard at the Phillips farm in Manotick. Can from the LCBO. Clear medium amber with a large white head that fades slowly and leaves a bit of lace. Nose is predominantly grain with a light bit of fruit and just a hint of grassy hops. Light sweet caramel, honey and fruit throughout with very light bitterness. Medium light slick mouth with soft carbonation and a crisp finish. Decent Blonde Ale.

473 mL can. Looks nice - gold with a small white head. Head disappears quickly though. No off aromas or flavours, but there really isn’t much going on.

355 ml bottle from LCBO. Pours a clear golden colour with small white head. Aroma is cereal grains, hints of grassy hops and a faint fruitiness. Flavour is also dominated by chewy cereal grains with a little honeyed sweetness, butter, and very light grassy hops and fruit. A little bland but decent.

Sweet bready malts, light grains, light grassy hops. Good carb, solid mouthfeel. More grassy hops in the finish with a slight bitter kick with a smooth cereal kicker.

355 ml bottle from the lcbo. Golden with a white head. Fresh barley malt nose, super clean simple and pleasant. The flavour follows the aroma. Just a super clean well crafted "beer". This is lovely really.

tap on the premises. clear pale golden pour with a small white head, some retention and lacing. honeyed yet crisp pale maltiness, some floral and citrusy notes, pepper, bread - crusty notes, bit of chalk. almost aggressive carbonation, light body - not watery, dry very herbal finish. o-k.

Grainy malt tastes a bit like there is some unfermented grain. The wheat is noticeable. Otherwise while easy drinkable a bit bland and watery. Better than the macro golden ales but mostly a microbrew beer for people used to tasteless macros.

Works well for style. Has decent crisp barley finish. Pours gold with ok head and lacing. Slightly sweet malt as well, with note of residual booze in finish, some bitter barley. Average carbonation. Tap at brewpub.

This is the only Big Rig brew I did not try at the brewpub. Instead, I purchased a growler to take home with me. :) Opened her up just a few days later. Pours a light golden colour, with not much too head, but creamy nonetheless. Malts do come through strong from the beginning, and getting a little bit of fruitiness in the taste. Minimal carbonation. Hops aren’t quite out there yet. From brewer’s description, they will soon be using hops grown from Mr. Chris "#4" Philips’ own farm near Ottawa! Will try this one again at the brewpub.
