Works well for style. Has decent crisp barley finish. Pours gold with ok head and lacing. Slightly sweet malt as well, with note of residual booze in finish, some bitter barley. Average carbonation. Tap at brewpub.

This is the only Big Rig brew I did not try at the brewpub. Instead, I purchased a growler to take home with me. :)
Opened her up just a few days later. Pours a light golden colour, with not much too head, but creamy nonetheless. Malts do come through strong from the beginning, and getting a little bit of fruitiness in the taste. Minimal carbonation. Hops arenít quite out there yet. From brewerís description, they will soon be using hops grown from Mr. Chris "#4" Philipsí own farm near Ottawa! Will try this one again at the brewpub.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
First beer of this brewery to be available at the LCBO, in a 6-pack. Pours a gold colour with a foamy white head, average retention and minimal lace. Big grainy cereal malt nose with a little grassy hop in the background. Pretty much the same for the taste. Nice bread malt with the hops in the finish. Aromas of caramel malt eventually come out. A big step ahead of macro lagers, for a typical lager.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle [355ml]. Pours a clear gold with a small fizzy off-white head. Aroma is mainly grain and pale malt along with very light grassy hops and toast. Flavour is grainy, biscuity and slightly sugary sweet along with light grassy hops and a hint of honey. Light bitter finish. Average bodied. Itís clean and inoffensive but clearly Iím not the market for this beer -- itís a better beer for Joe Sixpack.

Bottle from the beer club. Pouts a very clear pale gold with a good bit of fine head that drops a fair bit but stays and also has good active carbonation. Smell is slightly malty sweet and slightly hoppy with grass and spruce, but fairly weak. Palate is light bodied with moderate active carbonation. Taste is about what Iíd expect for a golden ale, slightly sweet, slightly bitter, clean aftertaste. Itís a golden ale.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pale golden pour thatís just a touch hazy. Long lasting white foamy head. Very grassy and grainy. A little bit of that earthy smell I found in the Red. Again it has that earthy taste. Iím really thinking itís the Big Rig hops, which Iíve officially decided I dig. Very different from the Red other than that. This is thinner and easier to drink. Grassy and maybe even a bit corny. Thereís a sweet spike in the taste just before the finish I find doesnít fit. Not bad and easy to drink but not nearly as good as the Red.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Sample at the brewpub. Clear golden with a white rim. Lots of pale malt and grain in the nose, toasty and breast, maybe a little light Noble hops. Medium body, moderate effervescence. Pleasant maltiness/cereals, a bit bready, light Noble hopping, pleasant and inoffensive, more hops than expected; dry with moderate bitterness and a nice pale malt finish with good toast notes.
