COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our flagship beer is a refreshing Golden brew that uses a blend of the finest Canadian and German malts giving it a smooth mild body that balances the crisp, pleasant German hop finish. The hops used in this local brew are soon to be grown at our very own hop yard at the Phillips farm in Manotick. Pale golden pour thatís just a touch hazy. Long lasting white foamy head. Very grassy and grainy. A little bit of that earthy smell I found in the Red. Again it has that earthy taste. Iím really thinking itís the Big Rig hops, which Iíve officially decided I dig. Very different from the Red other than that. This is thinner and easier to drink. Grassy and maybe even a bit corny. Thereís a sweet spike in the taste just before the finish I find doesnít fit. Not bad and easy to drink but not nearly as good as the Red.

473 mL can. Golden pour with a thick head of white. Pale cereals on the nose with light cracker, lemon and straw. Mild grainy sweetness. Light bodied and moderately carbonated. Inconspicuous.

Pours light yellow with a bit of white head. Minimal aroma of hops and malt. Tastes of same. Not particularly flavourful.

Growler from the brewery. Pours a very light golden colour. Foamy white head with some retention. Not much taste at all. Cereals and bread are the main notes I pick out. Boring and bland overall. Maybe good for those that don?t really like beer. Have to admit, I was pretty disappointed with this one.

[6127-20140118] Tap. Yeasty sourdough bread aroma. Clear, golden yellow body with a long-lasting creamy white head and some lattice lacing. Sweet corn bread flavour. Medium body. Good. (7/4/7/3/13) 3.3

Its nice to have a local brewery but overall the beer is mediocre. Gold with a thick white foamy, lasting head. Simple smell of bready malt with light caramel and grassy hops. Tastes mostly of grain and toasted malt with soft peach and a dry flat finish. Though the initial taste is alright its much to be desired.

Tall boy from the LCBO. Filtered amber with light carbonation and a frothy white head. Aromas are breads, cereals, some light sweet malts, and a hint of light hops. Tastes are grassy, some sweet corn, and a hint of caramel on the swallow. This is by far my least favourite of their brews and I suspect designed to give the Molson Canadian and Labatt Blue crowd something to drink when they visit the brew pub. Try their other excellent brews when there as they make so many good ones.

The beer pours a translucent red-tinged golden colour with a half inch white cap that lingers. The aroma is cereal malt, weak caramel, weak floral hops, and a mustiness. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is caramel, yeast, and grains. Unremarkable, yet not bad at all.

Impossible that this ale has such a low rating on this site... Golden effervescent body with short lived head. Scent of fresh baked bread, spring fruits and malts but canít really discern any hops. Itís in the mouth that the hops are noticeable and they are good (they balance the sweetness of the malts perfectly)! Flavours also include sweet apple / pear and peppery notes. Very enjoyable in mouth.

Can: Poured a clear bright golden color ale with a nice large white foamy head with good retention and some light lacing. Aroma of grainy cereal notes is not the most pleasant. Taste is also dominated by grainy unrefined notes with light cereal notes. Body is about average for style with good carbonation. Malt bill is definitely not clean enough in my opinion.
