Our flagship beer is a refreshing Golden brew that uses a blend of the finest Canadian and German malts giving it a smooth mild body that balances the crisp, pleasant German hop finish. The hops used in this local brew are soon to be grown at our very own hop yard at the Phillips farm in Manotick. A golden ale with a thin lacing white head. In aroma, crisp malt with light sulfur notes and cheesy notes. In mouth, a nice biscuit malt with faint chalky notes, grassy hops, not bad. On tap at brewpub, July 7 2012.

Golden pour with a thick white head. The nose is soft and balanced. Aroma of lightly spicy/noble hops. A touch of bready malts with the faintest hint of toast as well. Very clean tasting with a balanced finish. A very quaffable pint. Simple but good

Bottle [355ml]. Pours a clear gold with a small fizzy off-white head. Aroma is mainly grain and pale malt along with very light grassy hops and toast. Flavour is grainy, biscuity and slightly sugary sweet along with light grassy hops and a hint of honey. Light bitter finish. Average bodied. Itís clean and inoffensive but clearly Iím not the market for this beer -- itís a better beer for Joe Sixpack. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Sample at the brewpub. Clear golden with a white rim. Lots of pale malt and grain in the nose, toasty and breast, maybe a little light Noble hops. Medium body, moderate effervescence. Pleasant maltiness/cereals, a bit bready, light Noble hopping, pleasant and inoffensive, more hops than expected; dry with moderate bitterness and a nice pale malt finish with good toast notes.

Can from the LCBO. Light, clear golden-orange with a finger of bright white head. Aroma is simple - starts with bready malt with a hint of caramel and toasted cereal, finishes with grassy and very slightly spicy hops, with not much inbetween. Flavour follows - bread, grain, quick hint of peach, enough noble hops to balance and offer a fairly dry finish, but not enough to leave a lasting impression. Itís OK, but with so many great pale ales on the market in Ontario now, I canít see this picking up a lot of traction outside of its home turf.

355 ml bottle from LCBO. Pours a clear golden colour with small white head. Aroma is cereal grains, hints of grassy hops and a faint fruitiness. Flavour is also dominated by chewy cereal grains with a little honeyed sweetness, butter, and very light grassy hops and fruit. A little bland but decent.
