fiulijn (6142), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy Aug 4, 2008 Draught at the brewpub
Amber color, creamy head. The aroma has quite good hops, fruity, mild. Good toffee flavor, medium body structure, strong hopping, well aromatic, oily, a bit fruity and resiny too. Long final, in which the nutty bitterness rises. Finally, a beer in this pub showing some good hops. Beershine (1526), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Aug 17, 2007 Excellent, one of the best brews from Big River. Tried this one at a beer festival and would like to visit the pub and have one there. I will update my notes when I do. At the festival I wrote down that the Big River ESB is strong in both malt and hop arenas, thus creating a lovely taste sensation that is balanced through and through. I’d like for more local brewpubs to make good ESB. CapFlu (3364), Victoria, British Columbia, Canada Nov 29, 2006 (Draught) Sampled on November 23rd, 2006 at the brewpub. Thin white foamy head with a deep orange body. Great full aroma and a ctirus hoppy nose. More like an EPA? Same English malt base with a very smooth texture. Low pressure creamer tap pours a lovely head and texture. A VERY drinkable ale and due for higher ratings! Hanratty (36), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Mar 13, 2006 Copper, amber - orange; rocky white head. Great hoppy nose . Fruity & bitter. Lovely citrus notes with buttescotch & grapefuit. Wow! And there is a bowling alley with hosers right over there!
