This copper-colored ale has pronounced Fuggle hop aroma from the time-honored tradition of dry hopping. This ale is the most aggressive house beer and not for the faint of heart. House Brand is also served from a traditional English beer engine.

On tap at BRG in Chattanooga while #1 Clemson is beating SC. Appearance: amber colored body with good clarity. Very durable off-white head leaves plenty of sticky lacing. Floral and herbal aroma with citrus notes and ample strength for style. Flavor: moderately bitter at first, but high bitterness by mid-taste; some hints of baked bread but mainly hops and more hops. Medium body is smooth; near medium carbonation. O: solid but too much dominance by bitter grapefruit.

12 ounce can poured into a brandy snifter. The beer is a moderately hazy copper color with a white head of foam. The aroma has strong pine resin and some cardboard. Kind of smells like an old beer. The date on the bottom of the can is unreadable unfortunately. The taste is strongly bitter without much to balance it out. There is a moderately sugary nuance to the beer as well, but it is very mich overshadowed by the bitterness. Medium body and lower to medium carbonation.

Can poured a clear golden amber with a small lasting white head. Aromas of biscuit, grapefruit zest and light pine. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of bread, grapefruit zest and light earthiness with a crisp dry lingering bitter finish.

On tap at Big River Grille downtown. This rivals any American-style IPA I’ve tried. Solid malt background, but Cascade hops are at the forefront of this beer.

On tap near brewery. Aroma is American hops with a decent amount of caramel malt. Nicely dry-hopped aroma remains throughout the drink and keeps enticing me back to the glass. I don’t know that I would call it aggressive, but it is certainly representative of standard American IPA and is of good quality.

I think this is what I had. It was in a can. It has a mild flowery aroma the taste is pretty bland up to the finish which has a nice citrus rind bitterness.
