DKTN (108), Mc Donald, Tennessee, USA Jun 1, 2008 Draft. Amber with an off-white head. Bitter hop aroma and flavor as expected. Very drinkable IPA.
nqualls (633), Tennessee, USA Oct 17, 2008 Had this on cask at Rock Bottom in Atlanta. It sent me here to rate it. Poured a slightly hazy dark amber with a small white head. Aroma of pine, citrus and some vanilla (?). Flavor was excellent. Mouthfeel was creamy, which set up the muted grapefruit flavor, that was excellently backed by malt balance. Finish was piney. Medium body with soft carbonation. jstraw (549), Oak Park, Illinois, USA Sep 27, 2008 Hazy copper with good, creamy beige head / Nose of burnt sugar / Light to medium body, some creaminess, light hops and decent finish / Overwhelming flavor of burnt sugar, with dry hop notes / A very pleasant beer, but it’s not an ipa. More of a Vienna lager with a touch of hops. mfaulke (81), clemson, South Carolina, USA Aug 7, 2008 Not bad but not spectacular either. I had the regular and the cask version, and the cask version was a definite improvement. It’s kind of toned down though. I didn’t get a lot of hops out of this, for it to be an IPA. I did detect a pleasant vanilla character in this beer, especially in the cask one. If this is the most aggressive brew in the house, then they need to hand out booster seats at the door. A kiddie IPA for sure. jzzbassman (703), New Albany, Mississippi, USA Jul 6, 2008 Draft at Downtown Chattanooga location
Very English, as contrasted to the place mat description. Clearly outshined by the 375 that followed, just a bit too safe in the bitterness. jcwattsrugger (4272), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Jun 14, 2008 cask-pours a rich retaining light tan head and copper color. Aroma is medium malt, some citrus/earthy hops. Taste is medium malt, some citrus/earthy hops, some bitter. Soft carbonation.
