Styles (1654), Taylor, Michigan, USA Dec 13, 2007 MBG 7-21-06. Copper with no head whatsoever. Huge citrus up front, sweet and zesty at the same time. Not much bourbon in nose. Flavor much different than aroma suggests. Quick hit of citrus and bourbon takes over. Very hot alcohol and bourbon finish. thedm (3407), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA Oct 30, 2006 This draft brew from a festival poured a head of frothy medium sized bubbles that was fully diminished and left behind a hazy softly carbonated light orange brown colored body. The strong aroma was bourbon. The mouth feel was smooth at the start and mediumly tingly at the finish with a hoppy aftertaste. The flavor contained notes of malt hops and bourbon that comes on strong and wont let go. A decent one but not one that I would consider buying again. 11026 (1886), USA Oct 15, 2006 Tap at MBG fest ’06. Modestly hazy and golden colored. Big citric hop aroma floats off the top, not a lot of bourbon presence in the nose. Medium bodied, slightly boozy. Nice mix of citrus/piney hop flavors and the vanilla/bourbon. Interesting take. hotstuff (3060), Indiana, USA Sep 20, 2006 Draft. Small head that quickly dissipated, no visible carbonation, no laciing, transparent, and a light orange hue. Nose was hoppy, bourbon, grapefruit, vanilla, and oak. Flavor was hoppy, vinuous and subtle malt. Smooth, vinuous palate. Light body. A decent IPA, but think it needs some tweaking. blankboy (2711), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jul 31, 2006 Draught at 2006 MBG Summer Festival. Pours a hazy orange with no head. Aroma: smells like an IPA with bourbon -- duh! I like it though. Really juicy flavour of citrus hops, bourbon, some sweet malt. Light to medium bodied. Interesting, and I liked it, but I would have preferred less bourbon in the flavour.
