Courtesy of markwise. Pours nice and clear mahogany with tan head. The aroma offers up yummy levels of caramel, toffee, some mild dark roasted malts and sweet malt balls. The taste is smooth yummy goodness with caramel candy mixing with burnt toffee, rich chocolate brownie, mild oak and some fabulous vanilla notes. Wow wow wow. Love this stuff. All the flavor components team up and come together wonderfully. I could, and should, drink this all night long and the next night too. Well done!

Thanks for Markwise for the share. This was an unbelievable beer and was amazing. Pours a dark brown with smells of chocolate, vanilla and bourbon. The flavor follows the same aroma profile.

Thanks to hoppymeal for sending this one down- awesome, Derek! Pours dark brown with an off-white head. Nose is booze, roast, chocolate, mallow, toasted coconut, vanilla, bourbon, and all-around general goodness. Flavor is similar with chocolate, vanilla, toasted coconut, mallow, and smores. Balanced overall, for a 12% beer. Medium in body and full of deliciousness. This one is a home run.

This poured a dark brown color with a smaller tan head. Aroma was lots of bourbon, as well as sweet chocolate and roasted malts. Flavor was also very bourbon forward, roasted malts and chocolate are there, seems to be a little bit of diacytle hiding underneath the bourbon but still a nice beer.

Draft sample at MBGWF 2011. Poured black color with an average brown head that mostly lasted with fair lacing. Moderate to heavy sweet chocolate, bourbon, wood and vanilla aroma. Full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy toasted sweet bourbon flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of long duration. This is a standout smooth brew.

12 oz. bottle 2009 vintage. Pours black with a medium sized tan head. The aroma had a big dose of chocolate with bourbon, vanilla and wood. The flavor was more chocolate and roasted malt, bourbon, vanilla and wood. This had a nice balance to all of the flavors. I would love another shot at this.

Bottle, 2010 Vintage, consumed October 2010.

Black, opaque. Lots of vanilla, oak, milder chocolate and coffee on the nose. Surprisingly light on the palate. Good carbonation. Slight soy note. Moderate, lingering tart and bitterness on the finish, along with a peppery note. Thinner mouthfeel, savory. Really freaking good.

12 oz bottle; 2010 vintage; thanks to flandersned for the trade; pours thin, dense black with trace tan head; sweet bourbon and vanilla on the nose mixed with heavy charred malt; quite sweet and roasty; texture is smooth, flat and medium heavy mouthfeel; lots of barrel, but not overwhelming; quite hot and sweet though on the finish; more bitter and astringent the more I drink

12oz bottle, dated 11/09, courtesy of iceicebaby on BA. thanks, sean! pours black with a thin, bubbly cap of brown foam and light rings of clay colored yeast. aroma is great with massive bourbon initially that mellows slowly allowing notes of soy, cigar smoke, dark chocolate, and light coffee to emerge with hints dark fruits and toasted wood. flavor is damn tasty as well but actually a bit tame (in a good way) after the aroma with smooth, woody barrel notes, mildly tart dark fruits, and roasted malts up front backed by light coffee, cocoa, and sweet, vanilla cake batter with hints of toasted coconut as it warms. palate is smooth and medium bodied with light carbonation and a pleasant boozy warmth without being "hot". overall, a very nice barrel aged imperial stout. lucky to have tried it.
