3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Styles (2014) - Lincoln Park, USA - JUN 8, 2005
Tap: dark golden/amber in color with decent head. Nice lacing. Nice citrus and floral hop aroma. Initial flavor is all sweet malt, turns to citrus hops and finishes with a big bitter hop bite. Takes a hit in appearance and plalate though.

Draft… RBSG/MBGSF… Clear amber ale with a mid-sized, creamy, white head. Excellent retention. The aroma is a mélange of tropical, citrus and fuzzy fruits. Medium to full-bodied with a silky mouthfeel and tingly carbonation. The flavor leans on the bitter side of balance, but has a very nice malt base. Much like the nose, there is an abundance of tropical and fuzzy fruit bitterness. Finishes moderately bitter and tongue-numbing. This beer seems to be a replica of the double IPA (or vice-versa), but with a little less body.

RBSG 2010. Poured clear copper color with a large frothy off-white head that lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy earthy and sour citrus hop aroma. Medium body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Moderate to heavy bitter flavor with a moderate to heavy bitter finish of medium to long duration. Very good brew.

Draft at RBSG Grand Tasting I sincerely regret not sampling more of the draft offerings at the Grand Tasting, but every time I headed for the taps you people just kept filling my glass with amazing beer damn you! Why? Oh right, because you’re all awesome, exceedingly generous people. Anyway... Pours light amber/gold, thin white head, spotty lacing. Nose is grapefruit, honeydew melon, peach, lightly toasted malt. Flavours of peach, grapefruit, spice, lemon, Very tart, spicy, and excellent.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 StefanSD (1585) - Lakeside, California, USA - JUL 25, 2010
RBSG 2010 rate. On tap. Pours a trtanslucent copper color with a small white head. The nose was a powerful blast of citrus with some cotton candy and a hint of green chlorophyll. The taste was biter hops forward with grapefruit and oranges set in a caramel malt base. The palate is just a bit thin, but it seems to work rather well here. Finishes long and biter. Overall: Very nice!

This is pretty good. A little malt and some hops. Flavor is okay, not top-of-the-line but still tasty.

blind sample, GLBN IPA Challenge 2010. Solid piney hop aroma. Over carbonation felt on the tongue. unbalanced IMO. neds some malts to balance heavy piney hop presence, piney bitterness lingers on the palate

Cask at Brazen Head. Nice gorgeous pour with a thick, tight creamy head atop a bright golden beer. The nose is bright and hoppy with lots of pine and citrus character. Freshly herbaceous dankness and a touch of grassiness. The flavour has a really nice juicy character. As it warms there is a weird solvent/higher alcohol character that kind of ruins it a bit. Started off really well, but couldn’t quite close the deal.
3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 PilsnerPeter (2959) - Flushing, New York, USA - NOV 10, 2009
Cask at the Brazen Head: Slight hazy golden with a dense lacing. Nice looking pour. The aroma is bright and perfumy with lots of berryish hop notes, and zesty citrus. As it breaths there’s a touch of plastic phenolic character. Oily/soapy mouthfeel. Very plasticy in the flavor. Tons of off phenolics with a mild husky back. The desrired hop character of citrusy brightness is detectable, but the plasticy phenols are overwhelming. Eh.

Great thick hops straight from the nose on this. More malt than an average IPA, but the hops used are great. A lot of grapefruit and more flavors are huge in this beer, making a very citrus filled brew. I enjoyed it a lot.
