yjb (108), Bloomington, Indiana, USA May 13, 2008 dryer and less creamy and chocolatey than most in style, this beer finishes very bitter. Very good, but it cannot compete with their elegantly crafted session ales. badnewsbeers (961), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA Apr 15, 2007 sampled at Lansing Winter Beer Fest 07’...dark body with reddish brown head..aroma of smoke, bourbon and oak, chocolate and coffee...flavor is a bit more subdued, but offers heavy chocolate and coffee complements to its slightly woody backbone thedm (3405), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA Oct 26, 2006 This draft brew from a festival poured a small sized head of foamy medium sized dark brown colored bubbles that was mostly diminishing and left behind a opaque no visible carbonation black colored body and a fair lacing. The weak aroma was dark malt. The flavor contained notes of toasted malt roasted malt vinous and dark malt. Delicious and one I would certainly buy again. hopscotch (4386), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Oct 4, 2006 Draft...GABF ’06. They were calling it "Got Rocks? Russian Imperial Stout"... This beer rocks!... Pitch black ale. Small, creamy, light brown head with an orange tint. Chocolate, vanilla aroma. Well-balanced flavor is sweet up front with plenty of burnt, bitter notes on the backside. Full-bodied and oily with medium carbonation. Burnt, bitter finish. World class stout! hotstuff (3019), Indiana, USA Sep 9, 2006 Draft. Appearance was a small tan head that mostly diminished, fair lacing, opaque, no visible carbonation, and a black hue. Nose was coffee, roasty, woody and some bourbon notes.
