Styles (1653), Taylor, Michigan, USA Jun 8, 2005 Tap: slightly hazy dirty orange color. Little head. Lots of banana and clove in the aroma and flavor. Decent lacing. Will agree with wolhfs there was some funk in the finish I couldn’t pinpoint. Decent nonetheless. 11026 (1886), USA May 8, 2005 Tap. Golden colored with a slight haze. Plenty of spice, clove and bananna. Lighter bodied, definate wheaty flavor. Clove and bananna carry over into the flavor pleasantly. There is a strange taste in the finish that I picked up in another of their beers. Not entirely unpleasant but shouldn’t be there. Overall a fairly decent Hefeweizen. Aggie80 (674), Michigan, USA Oct 18, 2003 This is one of the two best that they have. Strong banana esters dominate. This is what I expect to have in a good Hefe Weizen. It may be that I wanted something to be relatively good. Matched well with the seafood platter I had. ClarkVV (3547), Allston, Massachusetts, USA Jun 12, 2003 Pale straw color, hazy, but not as hazy as it should be. Way too candied taste. Disrupted the body and dominated the beer, throughout the main part of the body. The initial taste was sweet and still retained some wheat flavor. The beer finished watery/sweet which was not appealing. Perhaps I am being too harsh, but I like my hefe weizens and this seemed too artificial. Would have appreciated crispness, as the description claims, but did not find it.
