Craft Beer’s Gold Standard
Ever watch the setting sun turn a field of wheat into a blanket of spun gold? Not to worry if you haven’t, we’ve bottled it for you. It’s prairie goodness so pure that no matter where you choose to enjoy it, just close your eyes to find yourself in that field of dreams.

Little Known Fact
Truly a home-grown, honest-to-goodness Albertan beer. All of Grasshopper’s wheat is trucked in from the Lethbridge area, while its delicious barley malt comes exclusively from central Alberta.

Why do I continue to buy filtered wheat beers? Crystal clear, yellow. Clean malt aroma with a touch of pepper spice. Mild palate, clean and sweet with an unconvincing finish. Refreshing ...

UPDATED: SEP 20, 2013 Can. Clear bright gold with a finger of snow white head. Simple but pleasant aroma with notes of toasted wheat, light honey, faint hint of cut grass. Thin and crisp body, cuts thirst nicely. Flavour follows the aroma - simple but clean, mild honey-on-toast sweetness to start, hint of banana, light lemon balm and suggestion of lime cordial in the finish. Certainly not a beer snob beer, but for a simple refresher, you could do a lot worse. ORIGINAL RATING (September 23, 2002): Not a great beer by any means, but it’s a good thirst quencher. One for those warm summer days on the patio. Just don’t forget the lemon wedge. [6/3/5/3/11 = 2.8]

What "light" beer should be. Full alcohol but you can drink a lot and enjoy it. Great for passing the time and not thinking too much about the beverage.

The wheat lightens the body somehwat and allows you to "feel" the hops a little more, but overall this is but a step above the macros, brewed for drinkability. Ther is a nice finish to this beer which does make it more refreshing.

I’ve often wondered, when it comes to so-called american wheats why they even bother putting wheat in the name. They usually taste like Rogue’s Buckwheat Ale - ie. not a hint of wheat in sight. This product from Big Rock is little different. It’s a clear, bland ale-like brew.

not very wheaty really. maybe a little tartness, that’s it. more like a lager. not very impressive, but I’d drink it on a hot day.

Big creamy looking head atop golden body. Small champagne bubbles running up through the brew. Very slight smell to it: bit of sourness. Smooth, yeasty flavor (though this is a filtered wheat) very slight tartness. Kind of bland. Not a whole lot of flavor or smell. Bottles may have been sitting for a while (i only got them because there was a mixed sixer, 2 grasshopper, 4 warthogale, for only 2.99. couldn’t pass that up.)

I like some wheat beers. This was a little too bitter and not full of enough flavor for my liking. Didn’t even go really well with a good bread I have. Fairly light though.

The pub that I had this at served it to me with a lemon in it. Had a rancid, almost vomit like aroma to it. Not a great quality. Really bland which got worse as it warmed. Nothing at all good about this one.

Fairly light beer overall - aroma, palate and taste. Leans towards the malty side of tate. Crisp. Would like to see some bigger wheat flavors. Nice quality beer, but lacking in overall effectiveness due to its light profile.
