COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Big Rock Honey Brown is an exceptionally smooth, mellow lager with a subtle hint of sweet honey. This medium bodied, rich golden-brown lager is made with Alberta Clover Honey and aged longer to produce a cramy head and a clean aftertaste.

Draft @ Korea location: Poured a orange coppery color with a off white head. Aroma is sweet with honey. Taste was similar with sweet honey, yet has a soft malt and grit that most find with lagers.

341mL bottle poured light brown with small white head and no lacing. Light aromas of caramel and not much else. Taste is sweet malt and honey with a very light hop in the finish. Not enough balance in this beer, but otherwise ok.

Another Canadian honey brown that tastes like most of the honey browns without having a strong taste of anything really. Basically like Trad again, but slightly different.

Poured from bottle. Standard locking beer with just below average quality head. The aroma is sweet and malty. The taste is also sweet and malty with honey being a bit overpowering for me. I couldn’t enjoy more than one of these. Something seems a bit off with this beer but I can’t say exactly what. I found the mouthfeel kind of sticky and unpleasant.

Oooold review from 2006. Poured out a medium amber with a small light tan head that crackles. The aroma is quite malty and sweet but is pretty crappy. Caramel, bread, honey and something that is off. The taste is sweet and not overly caramelly but mostly malts and really watered down. There is some honey and sweetness that pretty much ruins this. Finishes gassy and thin.

On tap at Nick’s Steakhouse in Calgary, served in a cold tumbler. Pours clear amber with a small tan head. The head fades quickly to almost nothing and leaves a tiny amount of lace. On the nose, there are aromas of medium roasted malt, caramel, honey, yeast, a small amount of hops and a hint of funk. The flavour is moderately honey sweet throughout, with a slight hop accent. The finish is short and fairly malty. On the palate, it is light-medium in body with a watery texture and soft carbonation. Overall, this is nothing to write home about. It is an acceptable brew when nil else is available. 2010-11-19

It pours a clear light brown color with a small white head that quickly reduces down to a small thin ring. It actually a fair amount of carbonation I am not getting a lot going on from the aroma. Some faint honey notes and a little carmel. In the flavor category there is carmel, honey. I am getting some bread notes. This is overpowering on the sweet side of things. It finishes with a little sweetness and some linger metallic taste. Not much to say about this beer. Nothing here that I would want to repeat. Big rock makes ok stuff nothing really that high end.

strong alcohol smell, dark beer, decent for a honey brown, smooth with an ok after taste
