Signature Series
Pale in Colour, Not Flavour
If hoppy makes you happy, this Pacific Northwest-style IPA is your beer. We brew it with two kinds of delicious Yakima Valley Cascade hops, in such a way as to deliver the maximum heavenly hoppiness to your tastebuds, with the minimum bitterness.

Little Known Fact
The Cascade was the first North American-made aroma hop and the first hop variety from the USDA’s hop research program to be approved for sale since prohibition. It’s aroma is now one of the hallmarks of North American craft beer.

Nice Color, smooth drinking. Can taste a little bit of hopps. All in all, pretty good. Nice work Ed.

Light amber color. It’s a mild Amber Ale, with a light cheesy touch, more evident in the flavor than the aroma. Can be boring.

tap at Big Rock in Seoul - This one has a mild aroma of malt and grapefruit accented hops. The flavor struck me as very fruity and also quite sweet for what they’re calling an IPA. It’s barely hoppier than what Alexander Keith’s claims is in IPA. That’s not saying much. This one’s drinkable, but don’t expect bitterness.

Not a fan, very watered down and not taste to it. Big Rock produces some great beers, but this is not one of them.

Bottle courtesy of tupalev. Pours a clear, bubbly copper-gold with a small quickly diminishing white head. Mild aroma of grain, sweet malt and light hops. Watery flavour’s also of grain, sweet malt and light hops along with some cardboard and with a light bitter finish. Light to average bodied. Not bad for a Big Rock beer but there isn’t really any reason to buy this, there’s always going to be something better to get, one would hope.

[1008-KE-20071228] 341mL (c/o tupalev). Yeasty hay dough aroma. Clear, orange amber body with a quick foamy off-white head. Sweet hay yeast continues in flavour with a skunky tinge. Light-medium body with a watery astringency. Poor.

Bottle courtesy of tupalev. Golden-copper colour with an average sized white head. Average aroma of grainy malt and earthy hops. Average body. Average flavour that follows the aroma - grainy malt, earthy hops. Yup - average.

Bottle courtesy of Tupalev. I have had this a number of times over the years and apparently not bothered to rate it. I remember it being pretty decent but either it has changed or my taste has improved. Golden yellow body with a small white topper. Sweet malt aroma with notes of caramel, hops and muted citrus. Flavour is similar with a sweet grainy malt foundation and light accents of caramel and light hoppy bitterness. Not bad for a fairly mainstream offering but its fairly modest overall.

Bottle (341ml). Thanks to tupalev for this one. Clear copper, smallish fizzy off-white head. Aroma of cardboard, light grainy sweet malt, a fair amount of dry hops, but they seem pretty stale. The taste is let cardboard, more bitterness, not bad; Light body, quite fizzy, slightly burnt aftertaste - pretty okay

341ml bottle.
Beer that smells of sweet malted grains, a bit of hops and some feint orange peels. Tastes is also malty and sweet with a small hop presence. Soft carbonation, light feel. Not a lot of character. Not a great beer.
