1.6 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 furballman (25) - Seoul, - MAR 30, 2008
Not a fan, very watered down and not taste to it. Big Rock produces some great beers, but this is not one of them.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Appreciator (26) - Winnipeg, Manitoba, CANADA - APR 17, 2012
Pours light orange with a large white head which mostly diminishes. Inviting aromas with a medium intensity of the smell compared to other IPAs. Obviously hoppy, with a malty, wart-like aroma, take apples from the smell too. Taste is medium in intensity, with a medium aftertaste and body, mildly coarse. Round, but mellow texture, with the classic bitter, sweet, floral, hops flavors. refreshing and rich in quality. Appreciated.
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20 sseb69 (890) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 16, 2012
UPDATED: MAR 17, 2012 En fût au Moxie’s. 5.5%. Couleur jaune or, mousse blanche. Arôme de grains frais et herbes. En bouche, malt et houblons mais pas persistant. Amertume qui invite à une seconde gorgée. Pas mal bonne pour un resto d’Ottawa.
2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 probstblueribbon (1967) - Nepean, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 24, 2011
341 ml bottle in a mixed pack from TBS, served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass.
App.: Clear deep amber with a fair light tan head.
Aroma: Surprising, very leafy, very green, almost wet or fresh, raw hops, resinous, a touch peppery, not exactly pleasant, hints of a biscuit/bread crust/toast backbone, vegetal, odd.
Palate: Medium body, very relaxed effervescence.
Flav.: Still has a pervasive “raw” hop profile, though somewhat more subdued in mouth, oddly leafy, green, vegetal, slightly peppery, the malts are way in the distance, strange; dry with some bitterness and an amazingly abrupt finish that leaves traces of malt and green salad.
This damages “IPA” more than Keith’s. Blech.
2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 dresden (266) - Saskatchewan, CANADA - DEC 18, 2011
I wasn’t expecting much, and it’s a good thing I wasn’t. Slightly dark with maybe a bit of an orange hue. No real aroma to speak of. A bit more bitter than their other beers, but not really an IPA in my books.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Hammy78 (486) - Dundas, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 24, 2011
Had on draft at Moxie’s in Burlington Ontario Canada. Pours a light copper colour, white head and layers of lacing. Smells lightly hoppy. Nice hop bitter taste. Piney aftertaste as well.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 patricks110 (907) - Alberta, CANADA - OCT 27, 2011
Had this one in July, 2007. Forgotten tasting notes. The pour is a bright copper with a thick finger of beige head. A nose of sweet grain and a light hop, grass and caramel with an overall blandness. The taste is sweet and crisp with a minor hop bitterness and grainy, grassy malts. Very boring and bland overall, but a good beer for a BBQ.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 northropfrye (845) - Steinbach, Manitoba, CANADA - OCT 22, 2011
Bottle. Faint aroma. Pale appearance, slightly orange. Taste is a little bitter and then yeasty. Inoffensive, but not a real flavourful IPA.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 dreamflower (194) - Steinbach, Manitoba, CANADA - OCT 22, 2011

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 Metalchopz (1427) - Quebec, CANADA - AUG 24, 2011
Originally rated July 2006. First thing I noticed on the label, is that it is only written Pale Ale and not India Pale Ale. Pours a clear golden-amber colour with a decent off-white head that leaves very nice lacing all-around. Not much carbonation. The nose is pretty nice with some bread and spices. The mouthfeel is a bit sticky. Grain malt is present in the taste with some mild bitterness in the finish. Now that they have changed the name from IPA to Pale Ale, this one is good.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 reebtogi (2161) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - AUG 22, 2011
341mL bottle poured golden with some orange hues with small white head and no lacing. Aroma is hay and cereal and possibly some citrus. Taste is light sweet malt up front with a light hoppy presence in the finish. A very mild Pale Ale, a little disappointed.
