COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
All winter, Ed McNally nurtures the lime tree in his greenhouse. It reminds him that, every year, for a few short but glorious months, Alberta gets tropical. With so many options (and such a short patio season) Big Rock is proud to offer a fresh, premium light lager that has just a hint of lime. This is the perfect pairing to the flood of summer activities that Canadians will embrace; Big Rock Lime Lager will be the beer of choice for golfers, campers, patio lovers - anyone who is looking for a refreshing crisp beer with lighter alcohol content

341ml bottle - pretty sure via tupalev - been in my fridge forever, but it should be "fine." Very pale slightly cloudy gold with an average quick-diminishing white fizzy head. Lime?!!!? I get artificial lemon, weeds, a bit of alcohol. Taste follows - also not awesome. Thin, watery, okay carbonation, I finally get a bit of sweetened lime flavour in the finish, but by then the bus had pulled out of the station. Another flabby lime "beer"

355mL can poured pale yellow color with small white head leaving spots of lacing behind. A mild aroma of lime and some grain. Taste is lime with an undesirable bitterness in the finish. This is not a well done lime beer.

Can. Pinewood in colour. Very little nose, somewhat bready and maybe a just suggestion of lime that I have psychosomatically peeled from the label. Flavour is watery cereal and a bland, stale aftertaste. Very poor, even for a lime-flavoured beer, which is not saying much to begin with.

It pours a straw color with no head to speak of, a pretty boring beer visually. On the nose I am getting some grains and citrus notes. The flavor is pretty low key, I am picking up some grain malts, it has some lime zest in there. A thin watery beer overall. It finishes with some spicy notes which appears to be white pepper that lingers around. I have to say like most of the stuff from these guys it is mediocre.

Pours very pale golden yellow with small white bubbly head which dissipated really quickly. Smell - malty, not as much lime as I’d expect, slightly grassy, pretty faint overall. Taste - cheap lager with artificial taste of lime in there/ Honestly, I’d rather squeeze lime into Grasshopper and drink it. I guess it is somewhat refreshing and easy drinking, but I don’t think it worth to be a separate "type of beer". I don’t think I’ll buy this again.

Got this one at The Works in Ottawa, on tap. Another brewer doing the light lime beer I see. Kind of weird to have this in the middle of winter. Anyways, had to try one. Poured a decent golden colour with average carbonation, but not much head and lacing. Light lime smell with a crisp refreshing mouthfeel. The lime tastes more like real lime juice than syrup (like most bigger brewer doing a light lime beer). So, better than most, and has more of a normal beer taste than a light beer. Kudos for that !

[3348-20100813] 341mL bottle. Generic bland sweetened corn water aroma. Clear, light yellow body with a quick bubbly white head. More hints of lime cordial flavour has an odd corn aftertaste. Light body. Not pleasant.

355 ml can from Beer Store. Pours a clear light yellow gold with thin white cap. Aroma is light and grainy with (rare for a ’lime’ beer) very mild lime, a little skunky. Taste is pathetically thin - grainy and mildly limey. Relatively light carbonation for the "style". A very bad beer but not as sickly and limey as the comparables. But why drink this stuff?
