Can from the mix pack. Pours yellow. Aroma is alright on the hop front (though muted) with lemon and flowers, malt comes through in the flavour

Big Rock Saaz Republic Pilz
Brownish red pour. A bit rusty. Clingy thick tan head. Weak scent hoppy a bit grassy. Mouth is not nearly so subdued. Sweet start. Like a sweet European pilsner but better. A touch of hops I the finish. Not too bitter. Easy to drink.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Tasted from the can, from TBS in Toronto. Very close rendition of classic Czech blonde lager. Reminds me a lot of Pilsner Urquell even as tasted in Prague or the cold-shipped U.S. version, fresh Czechvar too. Very fine effort from Big Rock.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
473 ml can from The Beer Store. Pours a clear golden colour with small white head. Aroma is grains, floral. Taste is floral, grassy. Decent but will be easily forgotten.

2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
473 mL can from TBS, served cold in a tulip glass. Clear bright golden with a thin, fragile white head. Grassy hops and boiled cereals, some vague citrus petrol, maybe a touch floral, a little peppery. Medium body, moderate effervescence, feel more harsh than a Pils should. Light maltiness, done grassiness, hay, straw, green and herbal; dry with gentle bitterness and a finish that starts with a lot of boiled/cooked cereal and finishes with a vaguely grassy, odd finish. Didn’t work very well.

2.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Can. Pleasant hay and noble hops aroma in front of caramel malt and some apple juice. Crystal clear gold with only a white ring. Slightly unpleasant flavour of hops bitterness and some faint phenolics, finishing with mineral water. Light body, high carbonation, annoying finish. Somewhat crisp.

1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
2 finger head fades to one and laceing. Stays one finger head a wile. Looks like a watered down pilsner. Smells of apple, garbage, butter, and the saaz hop. Taste is a watery pilsner with a buttery, garbage taste and the saaz hop taste. Heavy bodied.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pale golden straw pour with a thin white head. Fairly herbal hop nose. Light zesty lemon and a bit of spice. Has some peppery character and remains fairly dry. Not bad really.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Really enjoyed this beer. It had a golden colour with average thin white head. It had average carbonation, but just the right amount of hops. Very smooth drinking beer, with enough after taste to give you slight taste of bitterness.

2.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Decent for style. Nice saaz infusion here, with enough to give this pilsener a kick. Pours golden clear without much head or lacing. Crisp, slightly saazy bitter finish. Average carbonation. Initial smell is a little off, though. Something a little like meted cheese here. Tap at Arrow and Loon.
