Commercial Description:
Noted for the smooth and mellow balance between malt and hops, its dark copper color flashes garnet when held to the light.

Can. Pours a crystal-clear red amber with an off white head. No real lacing. Nose is crystal malt, sweetness, toffee, mild hops. Palate is soft, sweet, and fruity, with mild hops and decent maltiness. Not my favorite beer, but it’s okay, especially when its on tap.

Excellent crystal clear reddish copper in colour, small tan head that quickly vanashed; a good swirl gives some spotty lacing. The aroma is roasted malts, slight nut, earthy and aromatic. Warm and a bit sweet too. Taste: I’ve never been a fan of this beers’ flavour but it does have lots of malts and some bitterness and a slight sour undertone. The mouthfeel is pretty good but suffers from too much carbonation. Light bodied. Has a good malty / bitter split for the aftertaste. Just order something else, please.

Tofeeish caramel malts very abundant but things don’t get overly sweet. Very light hops add a gentle earthiness. Hint of chocolate, some very light fruit. Good medium-light body, solid flavors and quaff-able. Aroma is of slight sour yeast and brown sugar. One-note-ish but very tasty! Nothing wrong with this simple easy-drinking amber ale.

A thick tan head with awesome retention sets atop a crystal clear ruby red to dark brown beer, most of the head disappears after a few minuets but a good covering remains the leaves behind some good sticky lacing. MMMM……..caramel malts and medium strength hops with some sort of spice witch I can’t figure out makes for a very good aroma, it’s a nice and strong aroma but not overpowering. Beer seem slightly watery but goes down good and smooth, this beer is all deep roasted malts that leave a bitter sweet after taste. No hops can be detected in the flavor just the goodness of the malts. This is a great tasting dark beer that’s readily available around town and most non beer snobs will split a pitcher of it with you.

Draft at The Railway Club in Vancouver. Poured a dark orange color with a creamy off white head that left some lace behind. Smelled of subdued brown sugar and sweet cream. Light to medium bodied and delicately sweet up front. Tasted of pale malt and light earthy hops. A bit of toffee emerged at the end.

On tap. Pours dark, coppery brown, with a smallish tan coloured head. Aroma is sweet, malty. Flavour is a little sweet, malty, hints of caramel. My go to beer when in Calgary. I’ll have a Trad.
