hobbersr (393), Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada Oct 26, 2008 Pours out of the bottle a reddish-copper colour with a very small off white head. Smells of caramel, apples and spice. Tastes of caramel, apples, a touch of spice, and that’s about it. Watery feel, pleasant but nothing great. AWS9 (221), Mississauga, Ontario, Canada Oct 24, 2008 Bottle. Some Malt, caramel. Maybe a little thin. Unremarkable amber ale, but nothing offensive by any means, so pretty good. mbgrayson (141), Anaconda, Montana, USA Oct 22, 2008 A basic amber type ale. Moderately drinkable. Not one that I would go out of my way for. ILduce (133), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Sep 7, 2008 Bottle: Amber. Aromas of sweet malt. Fruity with a toasty likeness...a hint of grapefruit and raisin. Watery; just a trifle dry. Unimaginative . Aubrey (2773), Denver, Colorado, USA Aug 29, 2008 Draft in Waterton Lakes: Deep copper-amber hue with a decent head. Lively carbonation; smooth, easy-to-drink palate. Lightly roasted and toasted and grainy. Light bitterness and hint of sourness. Faint sweetness (toffee). Herbal bitterness. Like a Fat Tire Lite. Surpris . Merci Rémy fiulijn (7150), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy Aug 5, 2008 2008-07-27, draught at Ship & Anchor, Calgary, 5-3-5-2-9=24 Amber color. Very simple Ale, very light toffee aroma, caramel flavor, not much more to write about.
2008-07-22, can, 4-3-5-2-10=24 Amber color; poor head. Very light aroma. Medium bodied, with some caramel flavor and correct biterness. Drinkable, but too simple. probstk (1005), Nepean, Ontario, Canada Jun 26, 2008 341 ml bottle as arandom single from LCBO, served cold in a tulip glass.
App.: Clear deep amber with a moderate tan head.
Aroma: Nuts and caramel, brown sugar, raisins, an odd vegetal note, a bit of meaty broth,
Palate: Medium+ body, moderate carbonation.
Flav.: A let down, cardboard a bit of ashen, austere malt, a touch of hops (I’m really digging here...), little else; dry finish with a touch of malt.
Maybe an old bottle, maybe a lousy beer.
