sinkhole (117), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Sep 5, 2007 Poured brown-amber with average head and carbonation. Sweet malts and caramels are offset with a slight bitter hop finish. A nice selection but not outstanding.
probstk (622), Nepean, Ontario, Canada Jun 26, 2008 341 ml bottle as arandom single from LCBO, served cold in a tulip glass.
App.: Clear deep amber with a moderate tan head.
Aroma: Nuts and caramel, brown sugar, raisins, an odd vegetal note, a bit of meaty broth,
Palate: Medium+ body, moderate carbonation.
Flav.: A let down, cardboard a bit of ashen, austere malt, a touch of hops (I’m really digging here...), little else; dry finish with a touch of malt.
Maybe an old bottle, maybe a lousy beer. patrick767 (1373), fort wayne, Indiana, USA Jun 22, 2008 tap at Big Rock in Seoul - Pours amber with a very thin white head. It has a nutty caramel malt aroma. The flavor is mostly of lightly toasted malt with some mild hops. It’s medium bodied and pretty enjoyable. hip_hop (61), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jun 16, 2008 This was one of my first in my quest to drink all that the LCBO had to offer that was out of my ordinary. It was alright. I rate it because I am trying to keep count, over time. Fogive me. patricks110 (84), Alberta, Canada May 7, 2008 Dark amber pour. Nutty and dirty aroma. Mild hops and nutty flavour. Slightly unpleassant aftertaste. The run of the mill Calgarian micro ale. JesseM (330), Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, Canada Feb 25, 2008 341ml bottle. Pours an amber colour with a small white surface film. Aroma: Nuttiness, maybe too much of it, or maybe I’m not huge in nuttiness. Taste: Better than I thought it would be, ok malts followed by tin, followed by caramel and then a nutty flavour that I tend to hate in beers. Weird and unpleasant alcoholic flavour is way to evident. At least I only had to pay $2.00 for this one bottle. Really unremarkable, sorry.
