33 cl bottle, Fargo, ND, USA via Winnipeg. Light amber colour, mildly active carbonation. Caramel/toffee aroma, sweet flavor with some some butterscotch and faint banana. Very drinkable, although lighter weight than I had hoped.

bottle, cellar temperature. lighter, copper-colored version of traditional is fairly accurate. The quality is fairly similar to their ’traditional’ except with a litle less of an edge. Still, surprisingly underrated on here, especially considering some of the horrid stuff with similar scores.
Although it is marked here as a ’brown ale’, the bottle itself has a sort of dial with different styles on it, and the highlighted one is ’Ale’, not ’English Brown’. The commercial description merely states that it has a nutty finish similar to an English Brown, it doesn’t suggest that it is one. An English Brown is considerably maltier and thicker.
In its own right quite good though, certainly the taste is very good and it makes for a fine session beer (not as good as Traditional though), but the palate and aroma are far from top-notch.

Smells like a lager, tastes like a lager... How is this a brown ale ??? Anyways, tastes like an amber lager with a bit more hops than a macro one.

Bottle at C’est What’s ’Fall Festival of Craft Breweries’. Pours a clear gold with a small diminishing creamy white head. Aroma of caramel malt, grain and some sweetness. Flavour of grain, caramel malt and very light hops. Average bodied. Not very good.

355 mL Can :(. Can’t find this in bottles in the city. Clear amber pour, can gives it a larger than average head. Aroma is nutty, almond, hazelnut, vanilla, roasted malts. Taste is light and sweet, with a clean mouthfeel that is quite refreshing. More appealing than Traditional.

Appearance: clear straight forward amber , creamy mid white top, some lace. Nose: Grainy , bit flat nose , slight dust on sweet malts. Ordinary. Flavor/Palate : Mid bodied , fairly soft. Straight grainy industrial feel. Not overly carbonated.

Clear light orange. Standard smell. A little musty. Very smooth with little taste. Smooth nonetheless, there’s just nothing to it.

This review done at my father’s 65 birthday party and the fact the they splurged and got a couple of the Big Rock taster packs instead of their normal cube of Coors Light is a mirical. Body of the brew is brown with a thin film of bubbles floating on top and after 1 min. its all gone, this looks completely flat. Aroma is mild with sweet malts that have traces of milk chocolate, some wood and a faint hint of hops. Strange even though the beer looks completely flat it seems to have an abundance of stinging carbonation that is warming the stomach. Very bready taste with slight lemony hops. Yuck to look at the beer now with not one single bubble on top it looks like I’m drinking brown water. Is that melon I’m tasting? Strange there is nothing special about this beer but its enjoyable, it is one of Big Rock’s better offerings it has a nice light easy drinking flavor that allows you to consume massive quantities in a single evening causing a death cloud of Big Rock morning after gas the next day. Brew got more caramel in the last ounce or two once at room temp.
