Bottle at The Rhino. Is this really considered a brown ale? Huh. Clear amber with a small white head. Aroma of earthy malt, not bad. Thinnish body. Flavour is mild and slightly fruity, with mellow roasted malt in the middle and a moderately bitter finish. A fairly middle of the road ale - certainly nothing wrong with it, but not something I’d go out of my way to have again.

UPDATED: FEB 23, 2003 Aroma was nutty, almost walnut-like with subtle alcohol undertones, Appearance differs from most if not all brown ales I have gotten my hands on, this was almost red and very transparent, I hope such transparency is not a foreshadowing of its flavor...starts out slightly nutty...I'd say this brew is very similar to newcastle or double maxim, light, nutty and refreshing...A tad bit more carbonation than it's English cousins but just as good IMO

Can, pours a light copper. Aroma of caramel, malt and wheat. Flavour is much the same - pretty standard beer. Drinkable.

Bottle. A deep golden brown color with a laced off-white head. The nose is malty with a little nut. A light body with a nice rounded touch of malt on the palate.

I can’t believe i haven’t rated this before! i used to drink on a semi regular basis. Its a pretty middle of the road, maybe even sub par brown ale. Wattery, and thin like most fo the Big Rock beers, some slight malt notes, and a touch of roast, but meh, pretty boring.

341mL bottle poured a clear copper color with average white head and spots of lacing. Aromas of caramel and nuts. Taste is malty sweet with some nuts and a mild hop finish. Carbonation and body are average and overall, this is a slightly better than average brew.

A sweetish mild ale, hints of chocolate and nuttiness but nothing too definitive. Some dryness but no bitterness. No Big Rocks on this guy.

Bottle. Clear amber body with average carbonation and diminishing off-white frothy head. Fair malty aroma with bready notes. Taste is mild and, as for the aroma, lacks hoppiness. Finish is short and discreet. Not bad, but not exciting.

can. orange-copper body with a creamy white head. aroma is grainy, dusty, and yeasty, with vague notes of dirty clothing. yeasty caramel and sweet malt flavours. body is smooth and creamy. It’s actually fairly quaffable though not particularly interesting.
