1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 cfrancis (1223) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 7, 2010
Lakluster lager is what this should be called. Slight hop and citrus aroma. Pours a clear pale yellow. Taste is pretty crappy. A little hop, a little lemon, a little citrus, a whole lotta not interested.
2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 Spab (1118) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 13, 2009
355 ml can from Beer Store (part of variety pack). Pours a clear yellow gold with a small-medium quickly disappearing white head. Faint nose of light grains that sweetens as it warms. Taste is sweet fruit and grains. Light body, somewhat sticky mouthfeel. Drinkable but pretty forgettable.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 bulldogops (311) - Alberta, CANADA - DEC 3, 2009
Bottle. 5%. Clear golden pour with a...nothing. absolutely no head. I have had apple juice with more foam. Aroma is fruity hops, sweet malts and grains. Taste is more of the same, cool, crisp and refreshing. Don’t judge a book by its cover, this beer is very tasty.

33 cl bottle, Fargo, ND, USA via Winnipeg. Medium gold colour, cereal and honey aroma. Sweet taste with a noticeable pepperiness and a dry finish.

ooh, saaz hops! what a crock. a better lager than many others, but not even approaching the good quality pilsner it’s advertised as (or is it? calls itself a lager but claims to be a czech pilsner on the back. make your bloody mind up!) another bland beer but drinkable and most definitely better than some higher-rated lagers on this site but a disappointing effort from big rock.
completely embarrassing compared to wild rose czech pilz and paddock wood czech mate among western canadian lagers
2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Vertical Bacon Strips (1617) - Asshat, Alberta, CANADA - JUN 15, 2009
Quickly: Standard gold with some white cap , ring left over, no lacing. Taste: grain, grass, barley, minimal sweetness. Aroma: Some stink (minor), mild, pee, grass. Smells rank near quarter full glass. Mouthfeel: not smooth, not rough, light bodied, almost over carbonated, weak dry flavourless aftertaste, touch of bitterness. Average barely. Did this even come out in bottles? That’s a bad sign.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20 Cirrhosis (887) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - JUN 10, 2009
"Brew looks crystal clear and very light gold, minimal cap that did leave behind some lacing. Aroma had a smooth sourness to it and the typical apple from the Czech style hops. Taste hit the style right on, they proclaim this to be a Czech style pilsner and they got it, dark but light tasting malt, apple style hops, and a sweet bready finish. Brew is very drinkable but there are so many other beers I’d rather drink."
1.1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 3/20 hobbersr (690) - Lethbridge, Alberta, CANADA - FEB 9, 2009
Pours a pale straw colour with little head. Aroma is predominantly sour. Other notes are straw, corn, and grass. Tastes sour too with loads of corn, grass and straw. This is like a crappy euro lager... But worse. This is not a CRAFT brew, it is a brew trying to get Kokanee drinkers to switch over to big rock. And they are doing a pretty bad job.
