1.1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 3/20 hobbersr (690) - Lethbridge, - FEB 9, 2009
Pours a pale straw colour with little head. Aroma is predominantly sour. Other notes are straw, corn, and grass. Tastes sour too with loads of corn, grass and straw. This is like a crappy euro lager... But worse. This is not a CRAFT brew, it is a brew trying to get Kokanee drinkers to switch over to big rock. And they are doing a pretty bad job.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 reebtogi (2161) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - AUG 23, 2011
341mL bottle poured clear pale golden color with white head diminishing quickly to virtually no lace. Aromas are muted grains. Taste is mildly sweet and bitter finish which is just off the mark. A little below average as far as lagers go.
1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 JoeMcPhee (6964) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - APR 2, 2011
Hazy pale golden pour. White head. The aroma is fairly sweet with lots of DMS present up front. Fairly slick, almost greasy palate. I think that about says it all - down the drain with this beast.
2.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 gramity (601) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - MAR 23, 2011
Appearance is golden yellow with almost no head. Very little smell except for a hint of grain and fruits.
Taste is very light with a hint of malt and a slight hint of fruit, nothing to interesting. Very little carbonation and no body. After taste is very watery and smooth, just like water.
Overall, this beer is very bland offering nothing unique.
2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 Metalchopz (1427) - Quebec, CANADA - JAN 26, 2011
Bought this one at The Beer Store in a variety 12-pack. XO, giving the impression of aged (like cognac), but not really. Talks about this on back label but does not mention anything about how long (so not really important and credible). Small white head, not lasting long, with a few wet spots of lace. Golden colour with little carbonation. Smells like wet hay and pee. Wet mouthfeel, wishing it was at least crisp (for a lager). Nope. A little bit of grass is felt to save the day, in the taste. Other than that, not much else. Short finish and overly boring.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 12/20 zeek (134) - British Columbia, CANADA - JAN 19, 2011
Straight from the can, no glass involved! Nice fresh hoppy aroma. Taste is ok, mild bitterness on the roof of the mouth. Very clean finish.
2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Elkas (213) - Cambridge, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 29, 2010
341ml bottle from The Beer Store. Pours light yellow. No real aroma. Not a lot of flavour, but nothing innoffensive either. Should be caled "OK Lager".
4.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20 Captainsask (5) - CANADA - MAR 7, 2010 does not count
I enjoy most of what Big Rock puts out, and even though I’m not a pilsner fan this one was surprisingly tasty and easy on the taste buds. Go Big Rock
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Strangebrewer (522) - Chatham, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 28, 2010
can. Poured clear straw coloured with a thin white head. Citrusy hop nose. Bready malt flavour with a lemon citrus undertone. Finish is crisp, a bit grainy, but not bad.
1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 cfrancis (1356) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 7, 2010
Lakluster lager is what this should be called. Slight hop and citrus aroma. Pours a clear pale yellow. Taste is pretty crappy. A little hop, a little lemon, a little citrus, a whole lotta not interested.
2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 Spab (1194) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 13, 2009
355 ml can from Beer Store (part of variety pack). Pours a clear yellow gold with a small-medium quickly disappearing white head. Faint nose of light grains that sweetens as it warms. Taste is sweet fruit and grains. Light body, somewhat sticky mouthfeel. Drinkable but pretty forgettable.
