Brown red color, no head. Fruity aroma of rasberry. Bitter in the beginning with a sweet ending.

On tap at Pour Phil’s Shell Bar in Oak Park, IL. for this year’s Tale of Two Parks Pub Crawl. Dispensed to a shaker showing a hazed, golden hue, a frothy, soft white head with fair persistence, and good cling to the spots & strands of lacing. The aroma was a subtle nose of fruit sweetness, some citrus as grapefruit & orange, and a hint of resin. Light to medium bodied, with average carbonation, the taste contributed moderate, rindy, hop bitterness with some lingering quality, and fair malt to smooth a bit. Drinkable, but not that expressive to wow.

Underwhelming IPA. Poured from draft at beer bistro. Clear orange with loose white head. Kind of dank and skunky tasting. Citrus and orange peel notes. Ok

Pint on draft at Beer Bistro, Chicago. Sweet and hoppy aroma. Really foggy orange with a white foam rapidly disappearing on top. Mild citrus flavor, tame in general. Light to medium bodied. Easy drinking but a little watery and unextraordinary.

Pint pour at Flo & Santos. Poured a clear orange-yellow color with a medium white head that dissipates quickly to an outer ring. Short strings of lace. Aroma of hops, citrus and malt. Light-bodied with flavors of hops, grapefruit and sweet malt. The finish is mildly bitter with a citrusy hops aftertaste. Above average overall.

UPDATED: FEB 2, 2014 Had it on tap at Owen & Engine (a gastro pub in Logan Square Chicago). Poured a clear amber hue, a light aroma and a thin head and light lacing. It has a very bitter dry hop taste.

Debut tapping at the Beer Bistro. Orangey and slightly cloudy, poured in a shaker glass. Has a short, whitish head. The nose has some decent Pacific Northwest hops to it. And I also get some of the malt. Very sharp and bitter hop taste to it. Malts are a little bit light. Rich, the founder says he wanted it to be a hop-forward since he thinks that’s what Chicago beer geeks like. Possibly since this is a fresh batch, it’s just naturally more hoppy. Another big-on-hops IPA.
