Draught @ Brouwer’s Café during Hard Liver 06’ (non-barrel aged version):   Bright caramel, slight haze, thin to moderate off-white head, spotty lacing.   Sweet caramel nose, subtle hop.   Sweet malt & caramel on the tongue.   Not a big Barley Wine, but solid, well balanced, easy to drink, and clean.   Almost like a sessionable Barley Wine.   ABV is well hidden.   Sweet caramel finish with a low hop profile.   Enjoyable.

Reposting after an unmerge. Lighter nose than the bourbon barrel version, there’s a lot more biting hop flavors and pungent red-ale malt body in this version. Light orange and peaches in the nose, sweet Boardhead-like orange, stinging flavors with a decent presentation of biting orange flavored hops and alcohol in the finish. One of the better BWs of the festival.
