3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Thanks to Bob for the 750mL bottle! Poured clear, medium garnety-brown with a toasted marshmallow head. The aroma picked up toasty raisins, figs, and dates with accents of vanilla and fruity/oaky sourness.. black pepper and crusty bread in there too.. balance was alright, but the sour character was a little too pervasive. The flavor opened tart with Sweet Tart-like dark fruits.. bready notes, molasses, and vinous notes rode higher carbonation onto the middle.. dry and spicy around and through the finish. Medium-bodied with filling carbonation on the palate.. tangy.. a bit too filling.. overall a solid brew.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: JAN 22, 2011 Bottle shared at a recent BA/RB tasting [2009 Vintage]... Poured amber/reddish with a tan head. Vanilla, oak, sugary malts. Still a slight boozy tone after a year, but it really melded nicely with candied caramel, and toast toffee flavors.

20 Blind tasting at Papsoe 27-03-2010:
Bottle. Huge bubbly beige head that mostly lasted. Excellent display of lacework. Mahogany color. Aroma of fruity, citrus, hint of spice, grain, dusty feel. Medium bodied with an average carbonation and light dry texture. Moderated sweet and bitter flavor. Light lingering dry and mild bitter finish.
