bottle #281/1800.gold foil .. not sure what that means but it is from superdave70. Aroma of sweet molasas. Murky bron body with beige head. Flavor was abit odd with some caramel but a stong bitter bite on palate odd brew.

Also had a red foil topper from a bottle bought about 2 years ago or so. Had a smokey aroma with some chocolate notes. Odd colored body with beige head. Sweet caramel flavor with an alcohol grain bitter bite so that was all that was the same beteewn to two.

Superdave’s was better imo

bottle #281/1800... not sure what that means but it is from superdave70. hazy chestnut-y brown with a thin tan ring of a head. there is something very comfortable about the aroma?!... brown sugar candied nuts, chocolate, grain, spice, bruised apples, vanilla and medjoul dates. it tastes a whole lot like a chocolate covered werther’s original butterscotch candy!... alcohol is noticed but it is slight and very welcomed as it clears the palate of flavors of malt powder, grain, brown sugar, dates, vanilla and flowers. a very mild bitterness comes in late on the finish. medium to full bodied but strangely thin enough to drink this entire bottle myself. i very easily could at the abv% and not have a headache in the morning. really enjoyable... 8/4/8/5/17/4.2

Capped 750. Thanks, RiversideAK! Pours opaque coppery brown with no head. No carbonation. The taste is a bit tart, with some dark fruit. Woody finish.

WinoInTraining (109) - Longmont, Colorado, USA - MAY 20, 2009
Caramel, reddish color. Prominent head. Big, simple and not very memorable. Aromas of brown sugar, graham cracker, sugar. Same on the palate. Weird metalic twang on the finish, but thankfully it just drops of to nothing real quick.

BeerandBlues2 (10056) - Hanover, Maryland, USA - APR 9, 2009
Bottle 171 of 1800. Pours clear dark amber with a large, creamy, light brown head, mostly lasting with excellent lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (caramel, cookie, nutty), average hops (flowers, pine), average yeast (dough, earth) with notes of dates, candied apples, pears, and brown sugar. Full bodied, creamy texture, average carbonation, and an astringent finish. Long duration, moderate sweetness, light acidity and bitterness.

Bottle from tytoanderson, thanks T. A quad under 9% thats a new one. 41st quad rating. Tieing me with the bigman Ungstrup, on that note, happy 40th Jens. Bottle 1004/1800. Pours reddish orange with a tan head. Nose is sweet. Taste is sweet and slightly malty with a touch of smoke. Overall this interesting and drinkable but not up to style standards.

BlackForestCO (978) - Aurora, Colorado, USA - MAR 17, 2009
Bottle shared by Crosling. Poured a deep crimson-brown color with ruby highlights and a thick, dense beige head that faded to a thick later that left some spotty lacing. Aroma of caramel, brown sugar, light butterscotch, some light yeastiness, and hints of fig and raisin. Smooth, moderately sweet entry with some caramel maltiness, light brown sugar, and a moderate yeastiness with some dryness paired with a light plum and grape and even a soft smokiness. Moderate carbonation and nice mouthfeel. Overall, an above average beer, but it lacks so subtle complexity that makes great quads great.
