COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
According to Montana legend, deep in the expanse of the Bob Marshal Wilderness there lives a small band of rugged and ferocious.... Chihuahuas. Bobo is the packs’ Alpha Male, and in a word he is ROBUST. So naturally we thought he deserved his own delicous Robust Porter.
A small bottle with big flavor! Brewed with 6 different malts & generously hopped. Robust doesn’t really begin to describe this beer. Smooth chocolate flavors with hints of coffee, caramel, and vanilla. Hop presence is copious and is matched by rich malt flavors.
Malts: Pale, Crystal, Chocolate, Brown and Black, Roast.
Hops: East Kent Goldings, Challenger.

Bottle. Note much aroma but I detect notes of chocolate and caramel malt as well as coffee. Pours dark brown with one finger of light brown head and no lacing. Sweet chocolate and caramel malt flavors to start. Finishes pretty smooth with coffee and hop bitterness. Nice porter.

Bottle. Pours a near black color with a very small tan head on it. Nose is roasty with a bit of chocolate in there and just some hints of dark fruit. Taste is roasty and slightly sour, with dark fruit elements to it. Really quite interesting.

12 oz bottle poured into a shaker- poured a nontransparent solid black color when held to a light source, creamy 2mm head formed with several frog eyes that lasted for several minutes and had some lacing upon the vessel. Aroma of a darkly roasted malt, some Maxwell House Colombian that I reheat in the morning, and some chocolate. Hits the mouth with a nice wide body, malt was on the edge of burnt but it works, middle holds up very well, finish is acidic, smokey, and lasts. ’Bout time I had a damn beer!

UPDATED: MAR 28, 2014 Chocolate and roast malt inkiness, medium kilned cereals add some toffee / caramel touches, mild phenol spice and faint dark fruit esters at play. Toasty, malty, semi-sweet balanced by restrained bitterness. Medium body, creamy and soft mouth feel. Malt sugar coating, carbonation froth and acid washing makes it quenching. Nice sub-6% porter.

Very dark brown with big beige head. Lots of coffee in the aroma with some caramel and chocolate. Roasty tasting with plenty of coffee flavor sans coffee bitterness. Medium body.

Draft at Jaks. Black color with off white/tan head. Chocolate aroma. Nutty and burnt wood and cherry notes. Cocoa and coffee too. Delicious for having low ABV as well.

Bottle. Head is initially small, frothy, brown, mostly diminishing. Body is black (almost opaque, flashlight tested). Aroma is moderately malty (chocolate syrup, roasted grain), with a note of vanilla. Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery/syrupy texture, lively carbonation. Very simple rendition, kinda typical Big Sky quality. Chocolate syrupy, not much else going on. Bit too sweet and kind of syrupy mouthfeel, so it’s not very exciting by itself. I’ve had some success blending with Avery Out of Bounds, since that one is way more roast-heavy, bitter, and hoppy, so they complement each other pretty well.

No head. Smells like dark cherry, malt. Burnt caramel, not too sweet. A little disappointing on the finish.
