3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Head is initially small, frothy, brown, mostly diminishing.
Body is black (almost opaque, flashlight tested).
Aroma is moderately malty (chocolate syrup, roasted grain), with a note of vanilla.
Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter.
Medium body, watery/syrupy texture, lively carbonation.
Very simple rendition, kinda typical Big Sky quality. Chocolate syrupy, not much else going on. Bit too sweet and kind of syrupy mouthfeel, so it’s not very exciting by itself. I’ve had some success blending with Avery Out of Bounds, since that one is way more roast-heavy, bitter, and hoppy, so they complement each other pretty well.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
The appearance has an opaque very dark brown color with a medium light tan head, and the aroma is a belnd of roasted and caramel malts. The taste fuses a mild umami, slight sourness, and slight sweetness, and the palate has a medium body, slick texture, malty and robust finish, and a soft carbonation.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Near black with a quickly fading light brown head. Strong aromas of roasted malts, with coffee, earthiness and toffee in the background. Tastes pretty much as you would expect from the aroma with a short lingering of the earthy bitterness. Body is medium to heavy with a watery feel pierced by fine carbonation.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 oz. bottle share thanks to Emily. Appearance: half finger of brown head, diminishes quickly, black, not much lace. Aroma: roasted malt, orange citrus, chocolate, Palate: full body, average carbonation, creamy texture, medium bitter finish that lasts for a few second. Taste: bitter sweet dark chocolate. Overall, very good, good balance on the nose, little bit off-kilter in the taste. Very solid in summation.
