This is a wow! beer. Latherous lasting head, thick and chewy with giant black cocoa and coffee bean roasted to oblivion. This brew is thick enogh to choke a Chihuahua. Little Bobo’s got it going on here. He should have been a yeti.

Draft at Jerry’s. Black with big, foamy, brown head / Rich, creamy, milk chocolate, coffee, and vanilla nose / Medium body, chewy but a touch watery, with good balance but weak, lightly bitter, finish / Simple flavors of dark roast coffee and bittersweet chocolate, not quite up to the promise of the fine nose / Mediocre, but has promise.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Crushed with Jakebra. Excellent nose of chocolate and some roast, but dark chocolate dominates. Roasty flavor isn’t as good, but some nice hop presence in the finish and a nice enough mouthfeel to make this porter quality as aight, borderline sexy.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours black with a 2 finger, creamy tan head that has good retention. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, sweet malt, toasted nuts, campfire, licorice and a light plum note. Flavor is roast, chocolate, coffee, black malt char, dry leaves, licorice, a little too much black malt char, dark fruit and roasted nuts. Light planty, earthy hops and char to the finish. Palate is medium bodied, creamy and oily on entry, lightly carbonated, slick and a little chalky on the finish with a lasting stickiness on the lips. Feels like a bigger beer than it is. I like this beer fairly well overall, but the char flavor overruns other malt qualities a bit too much and the chalky finish only accentuates that sensation.

12 oz bottle from Bier Stein. Inky black pour with a creamy tan head. Smells of roasted malts, dark chocolate and coffee. Flavor is largely roasty with coffee and a kick of bittersweet chocolate on the finish. Very nicely done porter.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 oz bottle. Pours opaque black with ruby-red edges and a small beige head that falls into a skiff of foam fairly quick. Aroma is bready, chocolate milk, coffee. Taste starts out sweet and finishes bitter; it’s very robust. Carbonation is average, body could be bigger. Nice porter.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle pours deep brown/black with a beige head. Aroma shows notes of chocolate, coffee, moderate roast, brown sugar, vanilla and what even seems like a hint of cinnamon. Flavor shows the same with additional notes of caramel. Overall body is moderate, soft and finishes with a nice roast malt/dark chocolate bitterness.

Black pour with a brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, some coffee. Rich roasted malt flavor, almost a burnt flavor. It has a nice aftertaste. Very tasty. Glad I bought a 6.
