COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
According to Montana legend, deep in the expanse of the Bob Marshal Wilderness there lives a small band of rugged and ferocious.... Chihuahuas. Bobo is the packs’ Alpha Male, and in a word he is ROBUST. So naturally we thought he deserved his own delicous Robust Porter.
A small bottle with big flavor! Brewed with 6 different malts & generously hopped. Robust doesn’t really begin to describe this beer. Smooth chocolate flavors with hints of coffee, caramel, and vanilla. Hop presence is copious and is matched by rich malt flavors.
Style: Robust Porter

Chased this one down and picked up at Discount Liquors in Milwaukee. Pours an opaque dark brown brew with an average sized beige head that slowly dissipates to a thin creamy head. Aroma of toasted dark malt, some chocolate, roasted nuts and caramel. Taste is medium bodied, floral hops, caramel, chocolate a hint of raisin and a hint of coffee. Finish is s tad watery with a light metallic aftertaste. It’s okay but still a little light for a robust porter.

Pours a deep brown with a hardy tan head and nice lacing. The nose is dark dried fruit. The taste is dark roasted malts, coffee and chocolate notes. There is a strong roasted malt aftertaste. The mouthfeel is medium with a nice balance of carbonation. Overall impression is an excellent and very enjoyable Porter. Will buy again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pour out of 12 oz bottle, dark brownish black with nice lasting tan head, aroma brought notes of baker’s chocolate, coffee grounds, caramel, toffee, some vanilla, hints of graham cracker, touch of slight earth as well in there, with a touch of spicy/floral notes as well. Taste is dark chocolate, coffee and roast up front, some acidic malts and some slight mineral, touch of caramel, hints of earth and roasted malts come through more, touch of spice finishing fairly bitter.

Pours a wonderful pitch black with a good tan head. Robust aroma consisting of lots of chocolate and coffee, with some undertones of vanilla. Taste is a bit smoky. Past this, chocolate is more persistent than other flavors, but still contains a good balance with the coffee and vanilla. Extremely smooth drinking with just a bit of carbonation, with a little bit of hops noticed in there. This is light enough to have many, but doesn’t slack on the body or taste. I am very impressed with this. I would buy it again in a heartbeat.

Very solid archetypal example of the style. Very dark and opaque, thick fairly persistent head. Big nose of milk chocolate, chocolately malts, and light roasted coffee. Lively carbonation for a full mouthfeel. Well hopped on the finish. Probably the best thing I’ve had from Big Sky.

Pours dark with a full medium tan head that hangs around for a while. This has lots of tastes going on: starts with chocolate, then transitions though roasted malt, coffee, a little vanilla adds smoothness. The finish, like the start is chocolate. Some nice hops but not overbearing. An affable drink, if you like chocolate in your porter Bobo will make you smile.

12 oz. bottle pours an opaque and very dark brown with a tan head that lasts. Not much to smell but the aroma includes lots of raosted malts, ash or nuts, and caramel. Taste is on the sweet side with hops coming out in the finish. Body is medium without much carbonation. Easy to drink, and very good, but not outrageous.

12 ounce bottle from a 12 pack sampler. Pours a very dark black with a slight red hue around the edges and has a nice two inch dark tan head that lasts. Taste is of roasted malt, smoke, caramel, chocolate, coffee and some hops. Aroma is of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, caramel, smoke, some pine and some hops. The body is mostly full, a bit creamy and rather smooth. The finish is pleasantly dry and bitter. Easy to drink, enjoyable and well worth having again.

On tap at McNellies OKC. Pours very dark brown with thick dark tan head. Aromas of deeply roasted malts, chocolate, and a bit of ash. Flavors of roasted malts, lots of chocolate, small amount of bitterness in the end. Finishes dry due to all of the roasted malts. Very nice example of the style. Probably the beat brew I have had from Big Sky.
