3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Straw colored, white head. It seems to be missing something, donít think this bottle is anywhere near new. Some minor herbs and grass, but far from a saison.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 11/20
UPDATED: JUL 3, 2013 This brew has so many great elements to it; however, it really fails on the finishes and makes it all seem so trite. Pours a slightly murky golden straw color. Aroma is yeast, some banana notes, and floral. Taste is sweet, banana, yeast, dough, and faintly citrus. The finishes is abruptly bitter and unpleasant. What happened here? Itís so good up until the end. What a disappointing imbalance. Sigh.

2.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
Aroma of spice (cloves) and citrus fruit with hints of barnyard/earthy funk. A clear golden yellow our with a moderately dissipating white head and minimal lacing. The taste is surprise. I get moderate malts and gram crackers with a slight touch of fruit and spice in the middle and a dry grainy finish. Medium-light body with crisp carbonation. Slightly watery. Overall, while a drinkable beer, it is not, sadly, very representative of the Saison style

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cloudy gold, limited white head. Yeasty nose, slightly bitter. Not quite ripe melon & pepper in the middle, a little flat. Finish is dry...missing something.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
It pours a nice clear golden color with a fluffy white head. The aroma jumps out as fresh bread with some orange and spices. Really digging this grainy/malty aroma. The flavor is similar with lots of wheat and rye with a good subdued spicy, peppery finish.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
This beer is a hazy golden color with a large white head that seems to fade at a mild pace, and the aroma combines hints of sour fruit, yeast, and rye. The taste is quite sour, slightly bitter, and a touch sweet, which doesnít give me the balance and flavor combinations I expect when I see a "saison." Furthermore, the palate combines a medium body, soft carbonation, slick texture, and a sour finish.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Appearance: 2" fluffy white head recedes slowly with moderate lacing. Significant carbonation present. Deep golden color and somewhat cloudy, but less than is common with saisons.
Aroma: clove, banana, warm bread dough, earthy hops.
Mouthfeel: mostly light, fairly crisp, somewhat dry finish.
Flavor: Hops are more forward than expected and mask the sweeter malt flavors (clove, banana, caramel) somewhat.
Overall: very fine, but not great.

Pour to snifter. Light, golden color. Nothing complex--thin on fruit or spiciness. Just OK.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
12 oz bottle. Dark golden, pale and cloudy with a fluffy white head that laces the glass. The aroma is yeasty and lightly tart with fruity esters, spices and herbs. Light to medium body with a crisp dry feel. Chalky yeast flavor, herbal hops, light spices and fruit. Kind of bland and watery. Lingering unpleasant finish. Meh.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20
Pour out of 12 oz bottle, clear yellow pour with white head, aroma brought notes of corn, grain, some biscuit, hints of spice, slight grassy notes, pretty bland. Taste is similar, mix of slight corn, grain, hints of honey, slight grass, finishing clean, slightly dry. Subpar compared to other Big Sky offerings.
