750 ml bottle, number 10/3000! Listed as Bukin Monk. Pours a clear yellow color with a medium white foamy head. The aroma is sweet bananas, butterscotch. The flavor is more banana esters, buttery flavors, yeasty, fruity. A decent triple.

Pours light amber with a moderately large off-white head. Nose and flavor are both very fruity- apple and cherry comes out the most, oddly enough- and somewhat spiced as well. Hops are subdued for an Abbey Tripel. The beer comes across a bit oiley as well. Decent but sub-par for what I expect from this style.

Bottle: pours a hazy yellow gold with a nice head. Spicy esters in the nose with some yeast and malty notes. The flavor is balanced, a light zip of citrus but otherwise fairly mellow. Clean yeasty finish.

2009 Bottle 750ml Label Buckin’ Monk. Pours out a hazy gold topped with a ring around the glass as the head. Aroma was of fruit notes apple, cherries, and some spice. Taste is more fruit more apples, some white grapes, and a nice light belg spice.

Pretty good. Lively cork pop. Poured with a huge foamy frothy off white head and good lace. Color is a hazy amber. Aroma was yeasty, musty, some malt, hops. Flavor is a little bland up front although relatively a traditional tripel. Vineous candy sugar flavs develop in the middle and finishes that way augmented by the alcohol. Body is good and so is carbonation. Alcohol comes on strong at the end to the beer detriment. Not a session.

Bottle. Bukin’ Monk #2171/3000. Amber beer with a big cream colored head. yeast and spice aroma with sweet malt. Caramel malt flavor with yeast, spice, bubblegum, and light fruit. Fuller bodied. Caramel and spice linger with candy sugar and yeast.

2009 Buckin’ Monk Limited Edition 750 mL bottle #40 of 3000. Are we sure this is the same beer as the one listed? Pours murky gold with plenty of floaters. No head to speak of, delicate lacing. The most interesting part of this brew becomes apparent very quickly: its super sticky/oily mouthfeel. Fruity aroma, like canned fruit cocktail (cherries, pineapple, pear, peach, apple), light yeast, hops. Very similar flavor: yellow apples and white grapes, pineapple, pear, yeast, light hops. Definitely an Americanized tripel. The booze presence increases quite a bit as it warms. Medium bodied with a silky mouthfeel and a low level of carbonation. Hides the alcohol pretty well overall. Good stuff, love the consistency.

Bottle 2009 Bubkin’ Monk label. Pour golden yellow with hues of orange and very lively carbonation. Scents sugary fruits and spice. Taste of sugar and spice, feel reminds me of champange very bubbly and sweet with dry finish.

Thanks jcwattsrugger for the share. Pours hazy yellow-gold with a white head. Nose is light fruit, malt, and yeast. Flavor is similar with apple, yeast, light fruit, and bread with some sweetness. Interesting take on the Tripel style overall.
