Pours dark (of course) with fairly sizable head. Aroma of straight-up roasted coffee. Taste is much the same. Light enough to fit the porter category - not as heavy as stouts. A solid alternative to the numerous coffee stouts out there.

Oh hell yes. Maybe I’m just buying into the "cowboy" name but this really does taste like something brewed up over a campfire. Dark and roasty with a nicely bitter finish.

Bottle, pours solid black with a nice light brown head. A bit of sweet malt right up front, but then the bitter, roasted coffee notes kick in. Full mouthfeel, but not slick. Chocolate, dark coffee, just a hint of smoke. Hop twinge on the finish. Pretty damn good, especially for the price.

12 ounce bottle. Aroma: huge coffee, molasses, brown sugar. Appearance: barely transparent, dark brown tint, with a tan & long-lasting head, lacing. Taste: malts and more coffee, lots and lots of coffee, hence the name I guess. Palate is medium bodied, bubbly. Overall, even though it’s one-dimensional, I would happily drink it as a night cap after drinking lots of coffee.

UPDATED: JAN 24, 2013 Black with a sudsy beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, and earth. Taste is lots of roast with some moderate coffee flavor and bitterness. Somewhat creamy; medium bodied. Not bad.

The beer smells subtly like coffee and strongly of roasted malts, and it pours black with a brown yet minimal head. The taste is slightly bitter and slightly sweet, but the medium body, slick texture, abrupt finish and flat carbonation combine quite nicely.
