Bottle 35,5 cl. Courtesy of Doodler. Pours a clear reddish brown with a dissipating light brown head. Some vanilla and coffee in the nose. Medium body, dryish, chocolate accents and again quite some coffee - but never heavily roasted or burned. But quite pleasant and easygoing - if somewhat light. 160513

Almost black in color with a tan head. Really nice coffee aroma. Strong coffee, mild spice, and a dark berry aroma. Some cocoa powder, dark chocolate, and hints of caramel sweetness to go along with all the roast. The flavor is a bit less impressive, but still enjoyable. Coffee, roasted malt, and a fair amount of dark chocolate. Mild spice, some earth, and a light bitterness.

Bottle from Bottleworks. Pours pretty dark brown/black with a foamy/frothy 3 finger darkish tan head. Aroma of coffee understudied by chocolate. Med body. Flavor is coffee, with some medium dark chocolate. It’s fairly bitter, though from burnt malt or hop I do not now. Pretty good stuff.

Bottle @ home. Pours a deep brown/black appearance with a sizable brown head that dissipates fairly quickly. Roasted and burnt chocolate malts and a sizable espresso aroma. Roasted chocolatey espresso flavor with dark malts. Roaste dark malty finish. Very tasty beer!

Decent coffee, but lighter than expected mouthfeel for a porter. Dark brown, OK aroma. Not so drinkable. Extra from Steve in Michigan.

bottled bottle. milk dud plastic chocolate and whoppers malted milk balk nose with ashy, stale coffee grounds and light metal/solvent notes. this issue is confirmed by waxy and fizzy carbonation with metallic notes. mild to medium roast, light black patent-like soy sauce astringency, and the burps taste like stale chocolate candy and milk powder and egg shell.

355ml bottle. Dark brown pour, creamy tan/brown head. Smell is coffee and cocoa, slight bit of the green pepper scent some coffee beers like bcbcs get but not over the top. It has a nice body, sweet caramel and cocoa backing, the coffee is heavy, slight metallic note, not super bitter. I am expecitng fresher better coffee flavor but it isn’t bad.

Bottled. Poured cola brown with a tight-bubbled tan head. The aroma picked up sweeter coffee and black patent malts, with lighter roast to it.. quite sweet overall, with a little vanilla on the back.. not necessarily what I look for in my porters, but it smelled like it was going to be drinkable and delicious. The flavor found cold coffee and some mapley sweetness at the core, with more coffee (and some related bitterness) around.. sweet and dark, lacking some character and direction.. more coffee and black patent in the end.. not bad, but not all that good. Light-medium bodied and a tad grainy on the palate.. sweet with a deeper warmth, but I didn’t care all that much for the malt bill.. OK on all fronts.
