I was amped to try this one. Pours old oil black with a foamy, dark tan head. Definitely a strong roasted coffee and chocolate aroma. Roasted hop taste with a strong warming coffee finish. This is a bad ass brew from Big Sky country!

Deep brown pour into thick creamy tan head that slowly dissipates into sticky lacing which melts down the glass into a pool of pillowy foam. Aroma of dark roast coffee and sweet chocolate malt. Initial flavor of dark chocolate that slowly fades into a roasted coffee bean finish.

This is the first new Big Sky beer too arrive in Lawrence in years. It was worth the wait as its easily one of the best Big Sky beers, if not THE best available this far east. Rich, chocolatey, and mellow enough to keep you coming back for more.

Bottle. Pour is deep brown, black when sitting in glass with a nice tan frothy head and some lacing as well. Aroma is fresh brewed coffee with some burnt roasted malt as well. Taste is more coffee and malt which is nice and smooth. Palate is medium mouthfeel with a dingle carbonation and chaulky finish. Awesome porter, keep it up Big Sky!

Strong coffee taste. Not too different from a coffee stout. Overall another strong entry from Big Sky.

Pretty tasty - one of the better beers I’ve had from Big Sky. It’s a good cold day brew.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Black body with a light brown sugar colored head. The nose has plenty of coffee and a little bit of bologna. There is also a little bit of pancakes with syrup. The taste is strong coffee roast with a little bit of soybeans. There is also a little bit of bitter dark chocolate. Hints of cherry come through in the finish. This is solid.

4.1 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Serving: from bottle--purchased at Full Throttle Bottles.
Aroma: moderate, chocolate/coffee aroma.
Appearance: very small, light-brown, initial head that instantly disappeared. No lacing and fully diminishing longevity. Dark, reddish-brown body.
Taste: light chocolate/coffee initial flavor and lightly acidic and roasty finish with long duration.
Palate: medium bodied with dry texture and lively carbonation.
Overall: this is an outstanding porter. Great aroma with a flavor to match. I’d like to try it from the tap.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
12 oz bottle into English pint. My bottle reads 6.2% ABV. Pours a dark, dark brown that lets a little bit of light through when held up to the light. Has a fast disappearing tan head that leaves some sticky lace. Smells of freshly roasted black coffee (no surprise). Taste is bittersweet and a little sour. Carbonation is medium, body is medium-full. Nice beer here, have no fear for the coffee and beer are here.
