3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Reddish brown with a thick creamy tan head. Malty sweet aroma. Medium body with lots of malt. Filling finish. This one would probable be more enjoyable if the temperature outside was below 100 degrees.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Served on tap. Poured a brownish/dark red with white/tan head. Not much aroma. Smacked with a big malty taste initially but lacks a "full" feeling. Can't taste much alcohol. A little light for a scotch ale.. Smooth finish

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Poured no head, only a couple small bubbles on the surface of an opaque dark brown colored body.
The aroma is nice. Like fresh baked whole wheat bread.
The taste is characteristically sweet with a touch of lemon bitterness.
The texture is thin with low carbonation.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a clear dark ruby - fizzy, soda like carbonation out of the bottle, but is fails to kick up a head and looks almost still after a few minutes - sweet and heavy maltiness in the nose, with notes of toffee, christmas pudding - light acidity and a touch of spiciness try to balance - low carbonation, medium to full body - an early acidity makes way for fairly rich malt character - a lot of toffee, plum - lacks the earthy and peaty notes often associated with the style, so not as complex as it could be, but decent (aside from looking pretty unappealing).

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
A- this pours a deep copper-red with a 2 finger head of foam. It looks gorgeous.
S- lots of malt in the smell...caramel, some toffee, a bit of a nutty aroma.
T- heavy on the toffee, lots of sweetness, huge grain note, light nuttiness. That grain and sweet malt is a bit overpowering.
M- I’d call it full bodied with the right level of carbonation.
O- aptly named brew...Heavy. Too heavy on most counts and not something I’d buy/drink again.

3.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
The color of this beer is a clear reddish dark brown with a large creamy white head that fades to a ring, and the aroma is fairly subtle scent of roasted malts. The taste fuses a mild umami quality with a touch of sourness and slight sweetness, and the palate combines a medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation, and a malty finish.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
12oz bottle served in a Southern Tier tulip
A - Clear dark chestnut with a yellow tinted head.
S - Dripping with caramel and toffee malts, dried figs, raisins, bruised peaches, toast with jam.
T - Sweet caramel and toffee malts, raisins, dried dates, brown sugar, some nutty earthiness in the background, pecan shells come to mind. Has a woody alcahol flavor towards the end. Finishes toasty with a touch of hops.
M - Medium body with good creamy carbonation.
This was better than expected. Not extremely complex but super tasty. It’s like a comfort beer, lots of flavor packed into this 6.7%ABV. This will be great to have handy this winter.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle:   Deep amber, sudsy white head, sparce lacing.   Soft peat and campfire on the nose, a little biscuit.   Doesn’t seem too sweet, at least compared to others.   Seems a little mealy.   Body and mouthfeel
are moderate.   Lingering biscuit and sweat meal notes on the backside.   Not bad, but average.   Needs more smoke, ash, and peaty notes.
