Bottle. deep red-copper colour with a thick tan head. Aroma is heavy on bready, crusty malts, some burnt sugar, some chocolate, with hints of prunes or some kind of sweet dark fruit. Flavours are nicely malty too, with lots of breadcrusts, dark caramel, hints of tobacco, cocoa, and black cherries. Finish is dry and slightly tangy, not quite metallic. Maybe it was my mood (chillin’out, watching MI4 with my dad who I only get to see twice a year), but this beer really satisfied.

On draught at O’Neill’s beer dinner. Pours a clear mahogany color, fine tan head malty aroma and flavor. Medium body. A clean Scotch ale.

Poured at the Big Texas Beer Festival. Medium brown pour with an off-white head. Aroma is rum and raisins. Taste is raisins, over carb, dark fruit, and ugh.

This is a nice garnet brown brew w/ a fine and long-lasting head. Nose is pretty subdued but the sweetness and maltiness of this beer express themselves much more once tasted. The flavor is straightforward and nutty w/ just a hint of fruitiness but the texture is full bodied and creamy, which works quite well. This is one of those beers that doesn’t smell or taste like anything that special but is really good in other areas, which makes up for it.

Dark amber pour with medium sized tan head. Aroma of caramel and ripe fruit. Taste is malt, caramel, ripe fruit, bread and slightly earthy. Nice and crisp mouthfeel, with just the right balance of sweetness. Everything came together perfect for this beer. Good beer.

Bottle. Rich amber pour with a nice light tan head. Nose is earthy caramel. Palate is moderate - maybe a touch on the thinner side. Taste is slightly smokey, caramel, earth, and a touch of grassy hops.

12oz bottle - Tan head medium sized bubbles. Dark burgundy body. Aroma of light brown sugar. Sweet flavor. A small roasty note way in the background. Good body. Bummer this is a limited release only.

Not a kilt lifter, not a froasch, but very very acceptable replacement. Tastes fantastic out of the bottle, and very pleasing in a glass. Try it, youll like it!

Enjoyed this via firkin over the weekend. Nothing unique done to it. Pours a light brown with thin head. Sweet flavor and aroma, albeit a bit mild. Its ok.

Pours a dark amber with a small layer of almond head. Very sweet aroma with strong fig esters. Taste perpetuates the strong and sweet figgy esters. The flavor lingers on the palate leaving a nice sweet pruny and figgy fruit sweetness. Very nice scotch without the smoky peat flavor .
