3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 flatmatt (736) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - JUL 16, 2010
12 oz bottle. Pours orange amber with an off-white head. Aroma has grapefruit hops along with malty biscuit. Flavor has grapefruit, floral, and pine hops along with biscuit, but is a bit on the weak side. Nice strong bitterness, though, makes up for a slight lack of other flavors.

Golden pour. Light head. Citrus and resinous hops abound! Flavor is bitter, hoppy, light caramel and bready notes. Good stuff.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 mbgrayson (353) - Anaconda, Montana, USA - JUL 15, 2010
Pours a crystal copper. Tastes like liquid grass. Or liquid hops....A very solid IPA. My rating is skewed because I’m not a big fan of IPAs, but it is solid if you like the style.
3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20 Narnad (1136) - Wonder Lake, Illinois, USA - JUL 12, 2010
Pours a very clear red-golden color with a hugh, frothy, off-white head that is amazingly long lived and dense. Aroma is just overly bitter with lots of dry hopping. Chinook-like aroma really comes through in the nose first then a strong citrus and light pine presence show up later. Flavor has a strong chinook-ish hops early, mild citrus middle, mild pine middle/end. Malt provides a light backbone but does provide a mild toasted background. Finishing flavor leaves a bitter aftertaste with a pretty good tongue puckering dryness. Body is light/modest with a fair amount of carbonation that provides a good base for the slight dry feeling of this brew. Overall a very good IPA with it ranging more toward the rougher, bitter side of the IPA spectrum. Chinook-ish flavors really makes it a hard bitterness but it rounds out well with the following hop flavors. A great IPA and up there with Bell’s Two Hearted Ale albeit this one is slightly less recognized.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 hero12 (178) - Minnesota, USA - JUL 8, 2010
Bottle pours a copper/rust color with a decent size white head that faded fairly fast with decent lacing. Citrus nose. Extremely complex taste, strong pine to start followed by a mellow malt flavor and finally a crisp hop finish. Medium bodied with a fair amount of carbonation. A very good beer from start to finish.
4.7 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20 coldriver (2) - USA - JUL 7, 2010 does not count
resin, citrus, spruce, very bitter, medium bitterness, this is one of my favorites - the aroma alone overwhelms me
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 mmmbeer (987) - Austin, Texas, USA - JUL 4, 2010
12 oz. bottle from sampler pack purchased at IGA in Ruidoso, NM- poured a transparent light copper with black undertone, hearty off tan head formed and laced very well, light carbonation. Aroma of citrus, pine, malt with caramel, and the American Frontier. Hits the mouth with high-medium body, malt was laced with caramel with just the right amount, hop wave comes in the middle nearly perfect in height, finish is acidic and lasting. Not the typical IPA (just add a shitload of hops), but it is good! Side note- had my first Big Sky brew almost 4 years ago- glad that I stocked up while I was there!
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 FunkyBrewster (1315) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUN 30, 2010
12 oz bottle. Pours a deep golden brown with a small white head. Aroma is nicely balanced with fresh piney hops and a caramel and bready malt backbone. Some citric hops but there is a fair amount of spiciness. Flavor starts sweet and sugary, malty, toasted caramel. Quickly picks up those piney hops and some citric fruits. Finishes bitter but balanced with the malt. Medium body and soft carbonation. Decent IPA, better than I was expecting.
