COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This big, rich IPA features Simcoe hops which give it both a fruity, piney hop nose and a clean, ringing bitterness. IN-between, the malt flavor is slightly caramel for a touch of malt sweetness. This IPA is well-balanced and very expressive with hops.

Bottle at Bling Pig Co in Champaign, IL. Pours copper read with a dissipating tan head. Aroma of caramel and floral hops. Medium bodied somewhat of a British mouthfeel. Flavor of caramel and wet grains countered by stale herbal, piney hops. Bitter and slight diacetyl finish. I may try this one again as I suspect this bottle is old.

bottle. Pours a sort of ruby orange color with pretty big long standing froth beige head. Smells of sweet nectary hops, notes of pound cake and berries. Hops are more citrusy in the flavor, notes of lemon and honey, with a cakey, malty backbone, leaving a bitterness on the finish. This is indeed balanced for an IPA, with the hops prominent but definite malt presence too. Very nice.

12 oz. Bottle. Pours a nice deep golden reddish/amber with a white head that dissipates quickly with no halos. Aroma is heavy on hops and minor citrus. Taste is medium bitterness with a slight sour. Palate is light to medium with a thinish texture and a lively carbonation. Finish is not bitter, but not too much. Good IPA. Maybe a starter for some, but respectable.

Pours light amber red with a white head. Aroma is full of citrusy and fruity hops. Flavor is citrusy grapefruit, with hints of tropical fruit and a big bitter finish. Pretty good.

Part of a 12-pack sampler from Binny’s, Chicago, IL. Pours a dark amber color with a medium head that diminishes quickly. Laces well. Taste is roasted malt, bread, and a hint of orange. Great IPA

From bottle. Pours lovely with slight orange hue and white head with large pourous bubbles. The head fades rather fast but the aroma is of orange and grass. The hops also seem a bit cheesy which departs from the overall experience. The flavor is interesting with tastes of plums, caramel and strawberry. Slight cardboard taste suggests that this bottle is not the freshest. I would like to sample on tap next trip to Montana.

Pours fairly dark for the style. It’s a shade of reddish gold with a good white head. Aroma is fairly hoppy but not altogether pleasing. Citrus, pine, grass and an herbaceous woodiness are all present from the hops. The woody note is my main source of complaint. It’s even stronger in the taste than the aroma, lending the flavor of fresh bark or a thick stem - uninteresting and blandly bitter. Otherwise, the flavor is fairly dry with some yeastiness. Malt flavors are mild, just a boring background bread flavor. Feel is a bit effervescent but finishes thin.

Pours a clear yet deep amber color with moderate creamy head. Refreshing aroma typical of an IPA. Citrus, floral hops with a bit of caramel malt on the palate. Good dry finish. Overall an above average offering - well balanced and you can tell the brewer uses quality ingredients. Although not at the top of my list, I would purchase again - Cheers to Big Sky!
