COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This big, rich IPA features Simcoe hops which give it both a fruity, piney hop nose and a clean, ringing bitterness. IN-between, the malt flavor is slightly caramel for a touch of malt sweetness. This IPA is well-balanced and very expressive with hops.

Another great beer from Big Sky. This IPA has a less-typical amber shade that’s topped with a nice layer of foam. The aroma is more subdued on this one but you still get a fair helping of citrus and herbal woodsiness. The flavor is keenly balanced with the sweetness of caramel malt and the bitterness of Simcoe hops. The flavors of pine and grapefruit never overwhelm the rich malt backbone. While I think this ale could use some dry-hopping to bring out the aroma, the flavor and balance of this IPA are solid.

Bottle. A- Hoppy, piney, caramel. A- Copper color, clear liquid, white head. T- Bitter, caramel, malty, citrus, piney. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, bitter finish. O- A pretty standard IPA in my view. It’s fairly smooth but there was nothing that wowed me with this one. Well balanced at least.

Brilliant amber pour with off white head and good lacing. Aroma is grapefruit peel, wheat bread, earth. Fuller bodied, slightly creamy with toasted bread, grapefruit and slight herbal flavours. Finish is a lingering mild bitterness. Okay.

Nicely balanced, sharp tasting IPA. Hop forward, pine, some grapefruit. More caramel malt balance as it warms. Nice hoppy aroma, mild but present.

Pint at Ashley’s on 5/16/14. Clear amber pour with a thin off-white head. Aroma of malt, pine and grass. Malty and grassy flavor with an earthy hop finish.

12oz brown bottle. A clear orangey pour. Thick white foam on top and good looking clingy lacing. Nose has sharp grapefruit and also pine notes. Taste has a clean malt base with grapefruity hops on top. Ends dry and clean, bitterness is a bit short lasting. Body is light, ok carbonation. A decent IPA that drinks easily.

On tap at St. Augustine’s, pours a clear copper with a medium beige head. Aroma brings out some nice piney hops with a bready malt backbone. Flavour is very bready malt heavy, with almost a rye-like quality, with very moderate hoppiness. Seems more like a hoppy pale ale to me. All in all, well-balanced and drinkable, just nothing special.

Bottle. Pours a dark gold/amber color with a tan head. Nice citrus and pine hop aroma and taste with the bitterness nicely balanced by a malt sweetness. Great, enjoyable IPA.
